I just put on my new wheels a couple of days ago. I bought these as summer/track wheels mainly for their low weight (16.8 lbs) but I think they look pretty good too.

They are SSR GT2s and currently on closeout at Tirerack for $339 each.

yep, I bought the 18 x 8 so I could stay in BS if I ever get more serious about autocross. Right now, I focussing on track more than autocross, although I did do 6 events this year with the RX-8.

Tirerack has 18x8.5 SSR GT2s but they are a little more cash $399.

And has anyone figured out how much the stock 18" wheel weighs? I've heard 18.5 to 23 but nothing definitive...

the guy at the dealership said tirerack should know because they sell our OEM wheels. Any idea who makes them?

 

Those wheels look great. Good choice. In my opinion wheels make up atleast %80 of your car, so I hate to see a set of wheels ruin a beautiful car.

 

Those wheels looks good now drop a bodykit then you're set!

 

I'm inclined to say 22.5-23lbs, since that's what the *majority* of people got when weighing JUST THE WHEELS

but of course, light wheels are just part of the equation, need to also get lighter-than-stock tires to see even more noticeable improvements
