Just got my MazdaSpeed Exhaust in the mail. Had it put on not long after, here are a few pictures...




I love the deep tone it gives while in the low rpm range. Kind of a stinky drive home, prob. normal though since it's new?? Looking to get a short shifter next...

 

Nice. Did you do the install yourself?

 

Nah, I had my local Mazda dealership do it. Only thing I know how to do is change fluids

I got a Rev 8 installed recently. The McDees I drove through thought there was a fire somewhere from the smell rising off my system . The smell fades quickly.

Cool. My exhaust has natures mod. rusted out swiss cheese like holes.

 

Good choice, I love mine. My only complaint is that the tips bronzed very quickly.

 

Do you recommend anything to cut down on the bronzing or is there simply nothing you can do?

 

That burning smell might be from plastic exhaust shrouds hitting the muffler where it makes the 90. Check it out, if its touching go under there with a utility knife. I love mine also, not to loud/not to soft

 

Plenty of products out there that will get rid of the bronzing. Search.

Unfortunately, I don't think there are ways to make it look brand new after a few days of driving.

Nonetheless, I love my MS exhaust. Perfect tone to go with the rotary, and a great price compared to the other exhausts for the RX-8.
