i agree the 8 is much better, although i like my suv too.

just because it's AWD and fully loaded doesn't mean it is the greatest thing that is available.

how about a fully loaded 4x4 nissan pathfinder with a V8, or an armada, or an acadia, or a yukon, or a tahoe, or a volvo xc90, or you can even get an audi Q7. those are some of the ones that i can think of off of the top of my head that have seating for at least seven and are 42k or under. i just think there were better options out there when paying full MSRP on a car. and, if you don't really need the third row, that REALLY opens up a lot of options.

also, i gotta say this, but of course the dealers you went to were going to give you crap for a trade-in. they are dealers, that's what they do because then they have to turn right around and sell your exact same car with a mark up to make some sort of profit. you should have tried your local newspaper or autotrader or something unless you just wanted, or needed, the instant sale.

^ CX9 was motor trend SUV/truck of the year, maybe it is the best out there?
I did car soup and the paper, at $14,000 and got zero calls. Just try selling your 8, you will be surprised.

I'd rather have an Audi or a tahoe, but whatever floats your boat. if you like it, then that is all that matters.

and i'm not arguing about how hard it is to sell your 8. everyone knows that the resale is crap. when you can get a new one for $7500 off, the resale is bound to suck. i got mine for 10k off when i bought it 3 years ago.

still, you should never pay sticker for a new car though...

whatever, i'm done with this. if you like the CX9 and are happy spending 42k on it, then that's awesome. enjoy it! it is a very nice car.

haha a Tahoe over a mazda. Sorry bro but I would never get an american car over a japanese or euro car.

Other than that as previously stated CX-9 got SUV of the year award and it has gotten praises everywhere. It is very nice looking and will most definetly be better than an american an probably better than an audi.

I own a CX-7 too and it is very nice, 0 problems so far. And if you have a good mazda dealer then you are in good hands.

imo, the cx-9 is basically like getting a bmw x5 for like 15k less.

great choice and congrats. it's a great family car.
