Nando Presents: An introduction

Wats up RX8 club!! This is my first post so an introduction is in order I believe. Im sorry if this isnt in the correct place but I didnt find a specific spot for intros. Soo on to the 8. I recently bought this car about 2-3 days ago and so far this car is unbelievable! Ive had a few hondas in the past so I was pretty much used to the pull and feel of a FF,even just test driving this car gave me a thrill. Owning it is a different story. I love getting used to a new car, let along a completely different platform. As far as I know my car completely stock except for the wheels. So without further or due, heres my ROX-8!

Just finished waxing the car earlier so the results came out pretty decent.

And you gotta love the road rash on the rims

So there you go. Thats my new car

Stay tuned for more posts from me as I begin my journey on making this car "my own".

You probably don't need to bump it up after 9 mins, but anywho, looks good. I like the wheels. Enjoy the new ride.

no need to bump after 9 min! Be patient lol

Anyways, car looks nice! You should get some Never Dull and elbow grease to those exhaust tips! (unless your going with aftermarket... )

Also, a little more detail! Year, mileage, etc etc.

Welcome to the addiction

Yea I know its like I die a little inside every time I look at my wheels XD Naaa but theyre nice. maybe if I take some time out and sand down the lip maybe theyll be a bit better, not alot but a bit better. But yea as for a drop, i want to go with coilovers but im not the type to slap something on and not support it. Id have to get the car corner balanced and all that other non sense that goes with it. Im probably looking at a set of Tein Stechs and some Koni yellows to give me a nice and even drop while still maintaining driveability on these horrid NY roads. As for the motor, Im thinking a nice and simple I,H,E. Ive had a bunch of built cars and theyre nothing but trouble, they break down, they get u in trouble with the law and most importantly they get stolen My last and favorite honda ive owned was my Integra type R replica and that baby got stolen about 2-3 weeks ago. My main focus will be suspension (springs, shocks, bushings, tires, sway bars, bracing, etc) u know stuff to make the car REALLY fun to drive!!

Sry lol I'm coming from a site called b20vtec where its necessary to bump. Give it 10 mins and ur thread'll be on page 2 or 3 lol but as for specs for the wheels, all I know is they're 10.5x18 in back and 9x18 in front and they're ADR wheels. As for the rest of the car it seems 100% stock. It's got 95,000 miles and another question I have is how do I truly take care of this car, maintenance is under control. I know I have to change this and that pretty much all the time but on a day to day basis. So far what I've gathered is I let my car fully warm up every start up, keep it under 4k until oil completely heats up, push it past 7k atleast once while driving, when turning off the car keep it at 3k for about 10 seconds then shut er off. That's my daily routine. Anything wrong or different or not necessary? Also I just ordered a decat pipe and ngk spark plugs, wires, and coils.

Really?! Yea cuz theres a whole mess of stuff on the interwebs saying that if u don't rev it before u shut it down that you'll have unburnt fuel chillin at the bottom of the rotor housing. Can anyone elaborate on their daily routines?

"Don't believe the hype" a lot of those random sites don't know WTF they're talking about. I've got an 04, that has never flooded. However, i've never shut it off cold either..so keep that in mind and you should be good to go. Anyway, car looks great, I have the same color.

Car looks good, I like the wheels. A nice suspension setup will really set it off. I really like the way the jdm corners look too. Nice photography as well.

What you said before sounds good. This is what comes to mind right now (correct me if I'm forgetting something)
1. Let the car warm up a bit before taking off.
2. Try to keep revs below 3k until fully warmed.
3. Rev to higher rpm once engine is warm. I don't usually go higher than 7.5k.
4. Check oil at every other fuel-up.
5. Premix.

^^
1. not necessary. start and go is my routine.
2. yup
3. No need to "redline" a day. 7.5-8k rpm is good every now and then. (I do every day, cause it's fun )
4. yup
5. yup, but NOT necessary. Read up on it...

6. Keep your car clean (inside and out)! I think that should be mandatory lol

1. Especially in this heat, like 5 minutes and the engine's warmed up. About the time to start it, brush your teeth and whatnot, head out and go, that's what I do, personally.
2. Absolutely, do that with any car.
3. I redline my car at least multiple times a day. What can I say, if I have an open onramp, or I'm at a light and it turns green, and the speed limit is 60, I'm gonna get there, and enjoy it.

It's fun.

4. Depends on how much you're driving. In my case every other fill up would be once a week. Personally, I've only had to add oil once. Would've been twice, but I was changing my oil that day anyway. I also wonder if it's not adding enough oil through the OMP anyway... Which brings me to...

5. Personally, I premix for the added protection. I've seen some side by side, compared, and the premixed one looked less worn, similar mileage, engine care, and whatnot. I mean, it's not a set in stone it helps, but for the peace of mind, I do, I personally run Idemitsu Premix.

Also, I'm pretty sure the latest flash for your ECU helps prevent flooding. I've only had mine for a few months, but it's never flooded. Then again, I never shut my car off cold.

But that's all up to you, research around on the forums, get your own opinion on what you'll do with your 8, and go with it.

What wax did you use? She looks really nice.

Hey thanks guys for all ur help. That really clears up a lot. I can already see that most of u guys on this site are pretty helpful. Again thanks I appreciate it. Also I give u guys the low down on Wat I just bought for my 8. I popped the hood and saw how bad the spark plug wires looked so I can only imagine the condition of the ignition system. So I ordered NGK spark plugs (platinum) wires, coils, I ordered a Megan racing de cat, a race header(not sure of name brand), a K&N intake and a new battery lol. I still have to change my diff fluid and trans fluid. Besides that, I believe my car will be in decent running condition once all those mods r done. Wat do u guys think?

EDIT:::

I USE TURTLE WAX BECAUSE I LOVE TURTLES!!!! lmao naaa turtles r cool
