My RX8 on the Dyno

My RX8 on the Dyno
Our local Mazda owners club had a dyno day on Saturday. Went out the dyno and was pretty happy with my numbers: 179.4-rwhp. Their inductive was broken so we couldn't get a torque reading
I will upload the dyno chart soon, too.
Sorry I don't have more pics, I need some!
That me in the black shirt and jeans, closest to the camera
And Jeff's (mazdamaniac) super-hawt RX8! That thing is damn sexy!

Is MM going to post his dyno too ?

MM had a problem with his spark so he stopped making boost. He's gonna go back and rerun it later. I think he did 206rwhp or so with only a 1500rpm range of boost basically.

The rear bumper is OEM. The rest is MS.
Yeah, if I had an SC I wouldn't have had that problem. I also wouldn't have had over 200 HP before 4000 RPM, either, which I did.
My HP curve looked like a torque curve until 5500 when the combination of too much fuel and a bunch of boost blew out the spark.
Odd thing is, it only did that on the dyno. No problems on the street before or after the runs.
Not sure why, but the dyno was FUBAR at that moment since the RPM pickup didn't work.
Were going back in two weeks.
I'll have video of chickenwafer's run in a few days.

It was kinda funny - when the tech brought the car in and jacked it up, there was this mad rush to get under it.
I'm under that car so often, the very sight of the undercarriage makes my back ache.

HAHA, that was funny. And the rock damage to your exhaust and motor mounts, "Welcome to Arizona!" exactly.
Hey, Jeff, just be sure to let me know when you head back, I wana be there when you lay down over 300-rwhp!

Not a biggie. I'm just not sure why it misbehaved on the dyno but ran great on the street. It wasn't overheating.
I only had 3 quick runs, so I didn't get any adjustments in between.
When I go back next week, I am going to have the dyno to myself for a bit, so I'll be able to dial it in.

what kind of dyno?
I ran 160whp on a dyno dynamics. Which always reads lower than the other dynos. They call it the heartbreaker!
From what I've been told, the Dyno Dynamics Dyno is a much more accurate reading of HP.

This was a Dynojet. There was a guy there with a souped-up Mazda 6 Sportwagon that had done 199 or 202 or something before on a Dynopack and then on this Dynojet he did 187, but the tech didn't take it to redline so his numbers were a little screwy.
Jeff, just let me know what day it is. Thursday works better for me But w/e day is fine.
Also, did your 8 drive home fine? Only acting up when on the dyno?

Did a couple of long 4th-gear pulls (just like the dyno) and it ran like it normally does in the 11:1 range.
I'm thinking there is something speed related going on. I'm going to gang the front wheel speed sensors to the rear with an impedance matching transformer for the next dyno session.
