Really? So, someone is a "douche" based solely on the criteria of whether or not they use a replica bumper/wheels?

Does this only apply to cars, or does it apply to other things as well? How about generic prescription drugs? Or store brand cola? Art reprints, perhaps?

Oh, it's completely reasonable to not want the cheaper stuff for your own.

Conversely, it's completely unreasonable that some people have this elitist attitude that if your budget doesn't allow for the best, you aren't allowed to do any mods without being insulted. No matter how good they actually look or function, no matter how much work you put in to it.

It applies to anything that's property of a company. Designs are properties. Generic prescription drugs are regulated by laws so they are a moot point. Authorized art reprinters send a percentage of their revenue to the artist or owner. Another moot point.
Cola is a beverage, there are many cocals so it's not even the same recipe we're talking about.
Manufacturers spend money to design and in some rare cases test their products. By buying replicas you just support who stole their design. There's a huge difference.

If your budget doesn't allow for the best just stay stock. I can't afford a Zonda so what? I stick to what I can afford.

You contradict yourself. I can't afford authentic. So I stick to what I can afford. And I can afford more than keeping my car stock.

If that were true, selling products based on another entity's owned IP would be illegal.

If that makes you happy, more power to you. But realize that not every car owner is mandated to your "rules", nor are they a "douche" if they choose otherwise.

You all are having this argument because they are clearly knock off products. Visually they look sub-par compared to legitimate manufactured products, which I judge you for using. They may look good to you and that's all that really matters, but this is an open forum and others can post their opinions on it if you choose to take pics and post them up.

It's not what you say but how it's said. I've seen many people on here say "it's not my style, but if you like it." Why can't that just be said? Why does it have to go on calling someone a douche because they used a knock off part? Just think about it....

I guess this is kind of my fault for starting the argument. I personally never have made a crack at anyone on this forum for doing their own thing with their car (as much as I have wanted to). As I stated before, I like the OP's car, I think it looks awesome. I was just commenting on a post, and don't agree that the reps are as good as authentic most of the time, and that my friends, is fact, not opinion. It's a hard pill to swallow, and most people don't want to admit it, but there is a reason an Auto-bahn front costs upwards of $2k, just look at Jedi54's car, it's perfect. I have never seen a rep bumper look that good. If you can show it to me, than please feel free and post it.

Im not a fan of body kits.. replica or authentic. So I wont be attempting this... atleast not on my car. But back to my main point. OPs car looks clean regardless of the replica part.

Right... Because calling everyone who doesn't use YOUR choice of products on THEIR OWN car a douche is "proper terminology."

the Seibon ts hood(like what you have written in your sig) is a replica of the hood by Varis.

Seibon is an industry leader in aftermarket carbon fiber products. They are hardly "cheap, replicas" as I stated. But good try, brah. A+ for effort.

Seibon is not an industry leader, just a decent replica manufacturer. The main difference between their bonnets and the original varis ones is that Seibon uses a useless layer of cf over a fiberglass part. Varis vacuum forms dry carbon.
That's why seibon hoods are often heavier than our stock ones while Varis' actually shed some pounds.

3. This is not a flame war site, so please do not engage in such. No distinction will be made between the instigator and those who merely participate.

4. Personal attacks against other forum members will not be tolerated, nor will any type of "trolling" for a fight. This includes political attacks, slurs, or sneering at any viewpoint or political party.

5. No racist, homophobic, or misogynistic remarks, including derogatory slang, be it overt or covert, will be tolerated.

6. Be respectful. This is harder to define, but will be moderated. An example would be disrespecting RX-8 owners who chose an automatic transmission over a manual, and "sneering" at them or acting like they're idiots for the choice they made. If a moderator believes you are being purposefully disrespectful to a fellow member, you will be notified. Bashing for the sake of bashing will not be tolerated.

I'm in law school.
The mods can ban me if they wish, it's not like i give a damn.
Technically I only expressed my opinion anyway, the "instigators" were the members getting butthurt over them.

How is telling the truth being irrespectful?
Cheap replica parts are indeed what I called them. Cheap replica parts.
Crappy intake is again what I called it. A piece of junk.

Waste of internet space... true, we could all live without knowing of another rx8 being ruined.

For someone in law school (as if that impresses anyone), you should already know the difference between truth and opinion.

He asked me what I did in college before editing his message.
Here is the message that has just been posted:

How old are you? In college as in working on a bachelors or masters?
I know the difference between opinions and truth.
That's why I used such words as CHEAP REPLICA PARTS and CRAPPY INTAKE.
That's the truth, now go argue with that.

Oh, so now you're speaking for all of us? WE could ALL...as a law student I'm sure you'll quickly learn that you can't just say it like it is. I'm done with this argument. And yes I did ask about college. I deleted that due to the fact that I no longer felt it was a needed piece of information.

The fact that you're switching from my points to my person shows how hard it is to fight what I said rofl.

This isn't a court, i can say things as I see fit.
