My oil cooler grilles

Here is what I installed. The pattern might be too small. I have watched my oil temp, and it hasnt changed, though it is only 55degF outside, so I will have to wait till summer to see how they work.

I like the look, so if the oil does end up heating up too much, I may mount some peltiers.

step 1: id move your passenger seat back just about 1 more foot to match the drivers seat . step 2: try painting them black then it would look tight... but make sure you complete step 1 before moving to step 2

Where did you get the material from? Please tell me you didn't tear up the backrest of grandma's rocking chair.
It looks too restrictive to me.

Looks toooo restrictive also. Why not try Dennis for this mod...

Hehe, my wife is short but gets shotgun by default.

The material was a sheet from Lowes. It was kinda spendy, I think $30. But I have enough left to do the bottom airdam part.

And about the black, I think if I can get it bent right, I may replace the main from grille.

If the pattern lets enough air pass I may because it block enough also, so that you dont see behind the grille. Thats kinda tacky to me.

Here is a farther away shoot than the last one of mine, the camera flash illuminated the RB stainless behind the DLS grill in the first photo. I'm not fealing warm and fuzzy with your material choice yet, but that is only my opinion. :D

I saw some material like that, but I dont like the straight lines to it.

They had some clover leaf style grille, that might have looked cool.

But if mine lets enough airflow through, I really like it.

when you add up the surface area of that grill, its is covering almost a 1/4 of the total surface of the oil cooler, way to much.

also watch out if you mount it in the nose, cause it may catch so much air at speed that it gets pushed back into your A/C exchanger

Yeah it would need some stability behind it.

And when I was looking at the front grill, most was filled in.

When I was a kid the house we were living in had these old fashioned iron radiators in every room. My dad made these box enclosures to kind of hide them and dress them up a bit, and the screening material he used was EXACTLY like the stuff this guys used. Except it was gold colored.

Anyway, it looks tacky and it's definitely NOT the right kind of screen material to use for this job.

That looks really restrictive. I would wait before filling in the big opening. Once the warm weather comes around you will probably be pulling that out.

I have the DLS grills and like the look because it is very similar look to the "grill" in the rear diffuser.
