My Nitrous Install

Hi guys,

Havent posted on these forums much as I am from Australia. This is not a build thread or DIY thread. Its just to show you guys what I have done and where I put everything and to show you guys what us Aussies are up to.

First up I took my ashtray assembly to work and created a masterpiece.
I took out the lighter and cut a bigger hole to fit the switches.

Then I made a plate out of 1.6mm aluminium, drilled the holes and painted it.

Next up I did all the wiring and installed the switches, this took me a long time and was a pain in the ***, I got the switches and wiring from Jaycar.

I decided to put the NMU(Nitrous Management Unit) under the stock airbox, had to cut away some of the plastic part to fit it but worked out pretty well.

Nice, I'll be doing mine soon, I got my custom mount but I need to get the fuel line adapter and my black nitrous lines first. I want to install mine the best way possible. I am even looking into a window switch now since another member got that working.

The NMU (nitrous management unit) send fuel and nitrous to the nozzle that is mounted in the BHR spacer that is located after the MAF. He just mounted the NMU on the bottom of the intake box to conceal it.

Tizza, where did you get those switches? Anf also that gauge is a Dynotune nitrous pressure gauge right? Did you mount the sending unit in the BHR fuel line adapter?

I wired it so when I turn the blue switch on (NMU) it powers everything else, so I cant open the bottle or purge the system w/o the NMU active. I got the power from the fuse box, next to where the mazsport ignition bolts to:

I got them from an electronics store here in australia called Jaycar, not sure what equivalent u guys have but here's a link: http://www.jaycar.com.au/

The gauge is for nitrous and I mounted it to the bottle, you can see it in the bottle mount pics, its connected to the blue fittings. If I mounted it to the fuel line adapter it would become a fuel pressure gauge... ring dynotune and ask if its adaptable to fuel if you want a fuel press gauge.

Not sure mate, you'll have to ask one if anyone has tested it or do a search, cant really see any problem with auto exept maybe if you hold the acc pedal to the floor through a gear change, not quite sure if is good for the nitrous to keep spraying through a gear change.

thanks guys, sorry for the late replies but the time diff is a killer

No. MM takes to long (not trying to diss him, but turn around times are long...)and the Cobb doesnt provide the software to tune AUDM ecu's and if I take it to a Cobb tuner here in australia they dont want anything to do with rotary's (Skyline ******** think they own the planet)
Here in Australia we have the Hymee ProTuner and ill be tuning it myself, it has all the software needed to reflash the ecu and much more features, its pretty much the equiv to a Cobb.
The 55hp jets dont need tuning but the 65hp jets might, ill see how I go... I wanna 1/4 mile the 55hp jets before I change them over to see the time diff, I'm guessing it wont be much.

cheers

Nice, Tizza.

I may steal your wiring idea. I just ordered a fuel pressure gauge to replace my oil pressure (decided fuel pressure is more important) gauge in the vent pod so I will probably wire the nitrous pressure gauge to the ash tray like you did.

I want everything to be clean and tidy like the rest of my car Sleeperish
