My Nitrous Install
7 Attachment(s)
Hi guys,
Havent posted on these forums much as I am from Australia. This is not a build thread or DIY thread. Its just to show you guys what I have done and where I put everything and to show you guys what us Aussies are up to:cool:. First up I took my ashtray assembly to work and created a masterpiece. I took out the lighter and cut a bigger hole to fit the switches. Attachment 256311 Then I made a plate out of 1.6mm aluminium, drilled the holes and painted it. Attachment 256312 Mounted the electonic bottle gauge. Attachment 256313 Fabrication complete. Attachment 256314 Next up I did all the wiring and installed the switches, this took me a long time and was a pain in the ass, I got the switches and wiring from Jaycar. Attachment 256315 Attachment 256316 I decided to put the NMU(Nitrous Management Unit) under the stock airbox, had to cut away some of the plastic part to fit it but worked out pretty well. NMU nicely tucked away.
Attachment 256305 I bought a tee piece from BHR to connect to the fuel line, made life easy mode for the fuel line tap. Attachment 256306 Mounted my BHR spacer along with the nozzle and jets, I have a BHR stealth nozzle that mounts under the spacer so you cant see it. Attachment 256307 Mounted the purge kit on top of the washer bottle and routed the lines out through the washer spray nozzle. Attachment 256308 Attachment 256309 Ran the wiring from the cabin to the NMU with the cable to open the bonnet. Attachment 256310 |

Mounted the bottle to the roof of the boot with my custom bracket making it wasy to remove for filling.
Attachment 256299 Attachment 256300 My remote bottle opener. Attachment 256301 The finished product of the switch board. Attachment 256302 Attachment 256303 Attachment 256304 enjoy, hope you guys like it :aroused: Tizza |

|
nice, enjoy your bottle :)

Nice, I'll be doing mine soon, I got my custom mount but I need to get the fuel line adapter and my black nitrous lines first. I want to install mine the best way possible. I am even looking into a window switch now since another member got that working.

where did you get the power from for your switches?

The NMU (nitrous management unit) send fuel and nitrous to the nozzle that is mounted in the BHR spacer that is located after the MAF. He just mounted the NMU on the bottom of the intake box to conceal it. Tizza, where did you get those switches? Anf also that gauge is a Dynotune nitrous pressure gauge right? Did you mount the sending unit in the BHR fuel line adapter? |
is this possible on an auto? i know its a silly question but im not sure

The gauge is for nitrous and I mounted it to the bottle, you can see it in the bottle mount pics, its connected to the blue fittings. If I mounted it to the fuel line adapter it would become a fuel pressure gauge... ring dynotune and ask if its adaptable to fuel if you want a fuel press gauge.

Yes, but since he is using our spacer that isn't a problem.
Keep up the great work mate :cuddle: |
so are you going to have MM tune it? or is it not needed? :bigok: Nice job. Makes me want to do the same. I love the switches and purge kit. Nice.

Here in Australia we have the Hymee ProTuner and ill be tuning it myself, it has all the software needed to reflash the ecu and much more features, its pretty much the equiv to a Cobb. The 55hp jets dont need tuning but the 65hp jets might, ill see how I go... I wanna 1/4 mile the 55hp jets before I change them over to see the time diff, I'm guessing it wont be much. cheers Tizza |

Nice, Tizza.
I may steal your wiring idea. I just ordered a fuel pressure gauge to replace my oil pressure (decided fuel pressure is more important) gauge in the vent pod so I will probably wire the nitrous pressure gauge to the ash tray like you did. I want everything to be clean and tidy like the rest of my car :) Sleeperish :) |
man this is seriously a hot install and easy had it on a 4port ... not trying to threadjack but easy did you have any problems
|
^besides blowing stuff into plastic pieces..... No. ;)
