They are not future headlight washers. They are present headlight washers. :D Canadian, European and I believe australian versions have them. US and Japan don't I think.

Congrats!! I just got back from Italy a couple of weeks ago and didn't see any 8's. I did see one on the the last day I was in Paris.
Nice plate too!

Che bella macchina! Japanese cars seem very rare in Italy - what kind of reaction do you get regarding your 8?

I'm also curious about your experience on the Autostrada - what speed are you normally running and at what RPM? I've also noticed that when Italian drivers see a Ferrari looming in their mirrors, they leap out of the way, creating an interesting "shark amongst the minnows" effect. What's been the reaction to your 8 so far?

Ciao Pier, took my 8 to northern Italy (Gera Lario, Como, Genova, Camogli) last week.

It's probably the best place to drive an 8 on earth! Congrats!

Very nice. But, look at the size of the front license plate holder!! Good thing the top grille is mostly fake.

Thank you guys!
I try to answer some questions(my english is ugly, please be patience!!)

Takahashi:the paper on the window is the assurance, next to it there is the parking stiker(they are very big, you're right!!)

H0rde:grazie, non passa giorno che mi fermi a contemplare la mia 8!!!(sei italiano??)

boothguy:japanese cars are rare in Italy, i think bacause we preferred the german cars(I had a Golf GTI).
But i don't like cars like FIAT because they are build to be economic, and the others like Lancia and Alfa Romeo don't have any sport car.....
I didn't see any 8 in my town, I think I am the one!
In autostrada the max speed that I reached is 230km/h, but I think it's possible more(I can try but it's very dangerous, the new european street rules are so strong!!they cut my driving licence!!)

AQA101:Genova is beautiful, and driving in that zone is very nice!I live between Venice and Trieste, we have a lot of mountain street (especially in Trieste) absolutely amazing!!

Thanx to anyone!
If you have some question about italy's cars, please write me!I try to reply as better as I can!

Ciao Pier:

Still interested in the reaction of people in the street as well as other drivers to your 8. And yes, you are definitely "the one".

X H0rde:mi sembra che l'hai imparata piuttosto bene la lingua, complimenti!quando vuoi fare due chiacchiere, io sono qui!!

X boothguy:The people and the other drivers that look at my 8 are very interested about a car that they don't know! mazda didn't invest a cent in publicity in Italy, I didn't see a spot in tv with the 8!!! So, for the people, is an unknow car....
Anyway, it's very pleasant to be an 8 owner(especially when the other people point the finger to you with a stunned face and saying :what kind of car is that??)

I'm still sorry for my ugly english(understand me)

There was a lot of reaction to the design in the US media when the car was introduced, saying it looked more Italian than Japanese. It sort of escapes me how a car design can really look like it has a nationality, especially these days when they're designed all over the damn place. Do people in Italy have as strongly positive a reaction to the car as people in the States seem to have?

Mi dispiace, ma non ha parlo bene l'Italiano, and HOrde is far more skilled than me. But your English is fine. Keep using it.

thank you very much, mate
unfortunately, how I said before, the mazda rx8 had low success because:
1 - the majority of the people don't know what it is, mazda policy in Italy provide to publicity the mazda 6, mazda 2 ,a little bit of mazda 3 and nothing for the 8. I am the one in about 200km far from me that own an 8(I told with the mazda dealer....)!
2 - here in Italy, anyone likes the (******)diesel engine, because has a low mileage and the fuel cost a little bit minus that unloaded. I hate the diesel engine! But the unloaded cost about 1€/liter and the 8 is always thirsty....(for me it doesn't matter, it's an 8!!!)
3 - for someone the wankel engine is so much different to the others.....

How much do you pay the fuel in America?
thanx
Pier
