I was looking for one for the longest time, couldnt find one with decent miles, condition, for a good price, so i decided (ddnt settle) to get the 8, but next will be a t/a m6, hopefully SOM and that will get modded

Stuck in a love triangle
It was a 2001 WS6 6spd w/t-tops and 17" factory chrome wheels. No mods except for flowmasters exhaust. I'm not sure what you mean by speed but I never took it to a dyno or dragstrip. But I can fondly remember several times where a stopwatch was at or slightly past 5 seconds by the time the car reached 60. My car would always lose traction on sharp turns and wet roads. I crashed it one time thanks to the bad handling on a curving road that was wet and it had $4,000 worth of damage. After that I had a fear of driving above 30mph on turns for a while. And on wet roads...I drove like a grandma. A year and a half later I totalled it when some dumb **** decided to turn into the street I was driving down without noticing my car and I couldn't slow down in time. On that accident I not only slammed their van, but afterwards my car swirved into two parked cars on the right side of the street and their van also hit a parked car on the left side
Painful memories.
Painful memories.

Sounds like a nice car...i love those things and you 0-60 sounds right on (5.0s flat in a M6 ws6 with prof driver)
How does the flowmaster sound on that? My brother had a Loudmouth, but it ended up rasping too much with his headers, so he got the magnaflow, and now he sells then
Sorry to hear bout the damage to it, great cars though

I like those F-Bodies--they just handle so horribly from my taste--when I lost my FD to a flood I almost bought a Camaro SS but the cheap interior and handling were deal breakers for me. Straightline speed and V8 muscle is cool and all, but I like to handle the twisties more than get to 60 as fast as I can. I still love them--just wouldn't have one, at least not as my only car.

Only car...no way...handling can be easily fixed, just switch in a nice corvette suspension. Cuz thats basically what they are, a tuned down, cheap vette. The interior on the other hand is a problem, as much as i love the cars, their interior has not changed since like 92 or 93.
I was talking to my friend about this, and it is probably one of the reason why they are not here today, they never upgraded the interior. Look at the vette or the 8: Navi, smooth high tech interior, friendly to the eyes.
Meh, maybe the new camaro will be nice

Yeah--don't get me wrong I love the F-Bodies--but coming out of an FD a car that is just as fast--lighter weight and better handling was a tuff sell for me to get into one. If I had the cash I'd like to get a 2001 WS6 or SS to compliment my RX8 now though.

Like the engine/sound and head-snapping torque...
Not to big on the looks and the driving position is horrible.
I'm ready for a fresh Camaro/Firebird. But according to this it doesn't look good for the Firebird:
Camaro concept coming to Detroit

Driving position does suck in those--and the seats aren't good either; its hard to judge the girth of the car from the seating position. I know quite a few folks that have had the front ends hulled out because they misjudged where it was--I'm sure if you've been driving one for a while it becomes second nature. I felt like I was sitting in a bathtub when I was driving one. Those gripes aside--the powerplant is awesome and I'd still like to have one as a secondary or project car.

Yeah, i did get that feeling that the car was huge and i felt in control of the road with it, i do not like their interioir and think they could have done a better job with the design of the seats...
speaking of which, we just changed the oil on it and fixed a leak in the transmission hose, so my brother, who is giving a proposal to some company, wants me to romp and it and see if it is still leaking...heh heh heh...this will be a fun day

I'm 6'-3" and when driving an F-body, I can barely see over the dash.
