thanks for the compliments...
no, i haven't waxed it, washed it, or even gotten gas yet...i only have 120 miles on it so far so it's still showroom new...
this is my first black car and i now notice that anything, ANYTHING, water drops, dust, lint, anything shows up on the paint...i wonder how bad dents and dings will show up...

i've learned to shift a lot later than in the GT...when daily driving in the GT, i shifted at around 4-5k rpm...now i'm shifting at 5-6k rpm regularly in the RX-8...i'm still waiting impatiently to break the sucker in but i'm still only at about 120 miles =\
interior, no question, hands down, RX-8 wins by a mile...there's almost no comparison...everythign just feels so much better in the 8...i also took a turn today at 55mph, something i would be scared to do in the GT...the tires were planted and not one squeal from the 8...
all in all, i miss the GT which is now sold but i'm very happy with the 8...it's so much more practical and funner to drive that i just can not go back to my previous car

thank you -- I agree the interior is above and beyond the gt as i have a '93 . i have sat in the car many times but none of my local dealers are allowing test drives-- my delivery date is scheduled for 1st week of october so i am impatiently waiting for my very own 8 to come in.
very interesting that you said the 8 is much better at holding the road as i have always felt that my gt held the road better than any car i have ever driven-- which includes my previous z28 and my dads porsche 924s. Although I thnk the ground control coilovers have something to do with it.
I too was worried about the torque difference but I believe the 300lb difference in curb weight helps
happy driving -

i did see the red and black after i already placed my order and they looked great...i'm not sure i would prefer them over all black as i really wanted everything to be black on my car...perhaps if i chose red as the exterior color i would've gotten red and black inside...but yea, the red and black is VERY nice...
