thanks for the compliments...

no, i haven't waxed it, washed it, or even gotten gas yet...i only have 120 miles on it so far so it's still showroom new...

this is my first black car and i now notice that anything, ANYTHING, water drops, dust, lint, anything shows up on the paint...i wonder how bad dents and dings will show up...

well at first i'll admit that the 210lb-ft. torque and the V6 "felt" faster at first...i was actually a bit disappointed with my first test drive of the RX-8...but after subsequent drives, i don't think it's faster anymore...like i've said in another review, the RX-8 doesn't "feel" that fast per se but it is...sometimes i geniunely wonder if the speedometer is wrong as i can go 85 and feel like i'm going 50...also, since my GT was a '96, the rattles and the V6 growl added to the effect making me think i was probably going faster than i really was, the exact opposite of the RX-8...

i've learned to shift a lot later than in the GT...when daily driving in the GT, i shifted at around 4-5k rpm...now i'm shifting at 5-6k rpm regularly in the RX-8...i'm still waiting impatiently to break the sucker in but i'm still only at about 120 miles =\

interior, no question, hands down, RX-8 wins by a mile...there's almost no comparison...everythign just feels so much better in the 8...i also took a turn today at 55mph, something i would be scared to do in the GT...the tires were planted and not one squeal from the 8...

all in all, i miss the GT which is now sold but i'm very happy with the 8...it's so much more practical and funner to drive that i just can not go back to my previous car

Very, very nice!

How you liking the black leather (which I like very much)? Think you would have prefered red or brown to all black?

thank you -- I agree the interior is above and beyond the gt as i have a '93 . i have sat in the car many times but none of my local dealers are allowing test drives-- my delivery date is scheduled for 1st week of october so i am impatiently waiting for my very own 8 to come in.

very interesting that you said the 8 is much better at holding the road as i have always felt that my gt held the road better than any car i have ever driven-- which includes my previous z28 and my dads porsche 924s. Although I thnk the ground control coilovers have something to do with it.

I too was worried about the torque difference but I believe the 300lb difference in curb weight helps

happy driving -

to be honest, it's ok...i've seen better, i guess...i think the leather isn't as soft as i'd like it to be and the entire seat isnt' leather, there are vinyl parts around the thigh area which seems odd...also, they scratch really easily...a friend had zippers in his back pocket and now my passenger side seat has a scratch on it...not sure if i can get that out or not, possibly not...

i did see the red and black after i already placed my order and they looked great...i'm not sure i would prefer them over all black as i really wanted everything to be black on my car...perhaps if i chose red as the exterior color i would've gotten red and black inside...but yea, the red and black is VERY nice...

yes the RX-8 handles MUCH better...the GT feels heavy and bulky around turns now that i've driven the 8...the 8 has 50/50 weight ratio and DCS which i don't even know if i've engaged yet...also, my 18's on the 3000GT were no were near as comfortable as they are now on the 8...the 8 goes over bumps and railroad tracks like nothing...it truly is a pleasure to drive...

just remember - good things come to those who wait...you wont' be disappointed...

Cool. I'd love to check out your car sometime. I see them at the dealers all the time but never stopped and looked at one.

well it looks as if you've done enough to your GT to keep it for a while...i think you should, however, give the RX-8 a spin and see for yourself teh difference...granted, you drive a VR-4 with 4 wheel steering so perhaps the RX-8 ride won't immediately impress you...but having a brand new car for a week now has definitely not given me and remorse towards having to sell the GT

I don't understand how dealers expect you to buy a $31,000 car without driving it first.
