My Accident
For me, this is a very depressing time. As some of you on the board may have known, i recently got my license (about 11 days ago).
Last night i was driving in a residential cross road going home, i was driving aprox 35mph alongside a Camery. Her back tire was at my right front fender, i was basically in her blind spot. Then she began to change lanes. Me being the inexperienced driver i jerked the wheel to the left to avoid collision, loosing control i was nearly sidways. I then over corrected to the right and the car spun all the way around. I proceeded to slide on the road towards the right side of the road. Then i launched off the sidewalk (the curved ones that are traditionally in neighborhoods, not the square ones on 90% of all streets). I was near undeveloped streets so the area to the right of the street was dirt. The dirt was at probably a 30 degree angle, and 2 feet below the street. when i slid into the 30 degree banking 2 feet below the street, the car turned on its side (drivers side) luckily the car did not flip onto the roof. to me most of the damage looks cosmetic (assuming the axles of the car stand strong) and the C pillar looks a bit banged up. Doors can be replaced, along with the front fender.
I'm fine, simply a few scratches. The car remained on its side then i crawled out of the broken drivers window and i was flipping out. i looked at the car and then with adrenaline pumping i turned the car back on its wheels. There was a 2 foot drop from the dirt to the pavement so there was no chance of the car being driven back on the road. I guess the lady in the camery didn't realize i crashed because i never saw her again.
This is seriously, a very depressing time for me. i loved my car, and if i had only hit the brakes this could have all been avoided.
please put your input and voice your opinion whether the damage is mostly cosmetic or some mechanical. insurance is covering it. Looks like its time to get a job
Here is the result:

JUST A GUESS...
I would say the rear linkage is toast and likely the front as well. Your "Cosmetic" damage also includes basically ALL body panels of the car except right front quarter (fender). Does this mean the car is a total loss? dont know.

WTF????????!!!!!! No, this can't be true Jordan! I feel so bad, especially since you just got your license and just recently got the car.. Man, I hope you're alright. To me it looks like Cosmetic damage, I would recommend you PM G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY, he can probably hook you up with lots of OEM parts. PM and see what he can do for you..

Jordan don't beat yourself up over this. I am sure you have insurance and they will work it out. The only thing I would say; make sure you push them to fix the car if you want to keep it. You do have a right to have the car fixed. If you don't want it, I hope you have GAP insurance if you have bought the car in the last year or two. I am in the insurance industry and could help if need be. I would also recommend Tony over at Metro Autobody to do the repairs. They have worked on my car and they do a great job. Once again I am very sorry to see you going through this. PM me if I can be of any help... And what's up with I need to get a job... You should have a job any way.... Girls and hot cars are not cheap...lol

haha the need to get a job part is so that i can start to pay what the insurance company will bump on my monthly charge. My parents have been paying for the car payments and insurance but the deal was that if i got a ticket or something happened. i would have to pay however much the insurance goes up per month.
edit: lol abbid i plan to keep the car. along with the mods =P
and even if its considered totaled i plan to scavenge my intake exhaust and rims so they can be transfered to the new rx8 that insurance would cover.

Make sure you keep your stock parts and take them with you when you scavenge. The ins. co. doesn't car if you just toss the stock parts in the front seat when you take off aftermarkets stuff, just as long as they get a whole car, i.e., you cant just go take your intake off and not leave an intake with the car.

Do you have GAP insurance??? Ask your mom if you don't know. If the car is paid for, then you have to eat it. I would push them to fix it if you want to keep it. You will have to be tough with them, because they will want to do whatever is cheapest. That may or may not be what you want. I am sure you are on your mom and dads plan and that could help you if they have been with the same carrier for some time. Keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best...

yea, blast on the horn if something happens like that, I kinda don't like how small the horn on the wheel is personally, used to Toyotas where it takes up the middle entirely but i understand they need room for the drivers control.
No offense, I am 17 too and got my car early. I honestly believe that everyone gets into their accident and it is prudent to wait a while after a year to get a car. I had to learn myself the hardway, luckily it was probably one of the cheapest accidents ever (no damage). Also, this was in my previous car which to the mutual consent of my family, would say it was one unlucky POS.
I feel very sorry for you and I want to say that your safe and that is what matters the most.

it seems like it didnt even stop, but i was flipping out beyond reason so i don't remember if it slowed down at all or if it kept going. i never actually hit the camery so if the person driving it had the music blaring its possible they could have not even noticed what happened.
