My 2005 Shinka w/carbon fiber (updated 11/01)
I'm going to continue updating this post with the latest pics of my car. My car recently had all the wheels/tires stolen and a bunch of body damage done. It's been out of commision for nearly a month. You can read about it: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...63#post2709263
I have the car back now, and as per comments in this thread it now has aftermarket rims, its been lowered (Tein S. Tech springs) and is looking a little more "together". I just mounted my AccessPORT today including modifying my ODBII port so it doesn't interfere with my legs/feet. I also had to re-seat my Axialflow shifter as I was getting some strange sounds. I think it wasn't properly seated and was grinding against the synchros. It sounds fine now that I've reseated it.
Older pics:
Next up... turbocharger install! I have a GReddy turbo kit, upgraded front-mounted intercooler, Garrett GT2871R ball-bearing turbo, Profec II boost controller and other goodies ready to go in soon. The Lotek gauge pod and carbon fiber faced gauges will go in first, then the turbo kit.

In Columbia... I work in Ft. Meade, you will usually see me driving between the two... 175/Dobbin/Snowden area in particular.
Thanks for the comments all, I'm going to lower it a bit with Tokico/Swifts and plan to replace the Seibon sticker with a Shinka decal along the edge of the hood and possibly the Japanese symbol in red in the center of the hood to match the B-pillar badges. I wasn't planning to do a whole lot externally, but I'm really happy with how it looks so far. I'm mostly focusing on getting a turbo in her as soon as possible.

Alright, by popular request, I'm removing the Seibon decal on the hood... I was pretty iffy on it anyway. Instead I'm getting some strakes, red calipers and instead of a turbo kit I'm getting lambo doors!! J/k DeeDub!
I'll post some more pictures up later.

See my problem is, I can't find a set of aftermarket rims I like much more than the stock ones. I really like the look of the stock rims and although I'm keeping my eyes open for something newer, there isn't anything that I'm in love with. Besides, the turbo kit is going to soak up some cash, so the rims will probably have to wait a while.

looks nice but don't do red calipers... nooo... black, silver, gunmetal grey but don't do red or i'm gonna order a truck load of Uncle Ben's to be dropped on your doorstep.
As for wheels, i really like the wheels on the 08 40th / 09's. Its a shame that OEM charges outrageous prices or i'd say get those. I think Mazda did good with how those turned out. but i agree with you... it's not easy picking out a set of wheels.

Nah, its exactly in the center, right where I wanted it. I measured it like 12 times before I took a drill to my baby. If it was farther back it would be hanging back over the rear and would look odd I think... the way it sits now it overlaps the back edge just a bit and the base fits solidly in the center.
As far as a kit... I'm torn on that honestly. The appearance package looks quite nice to me, and although I wouldn't mind getting a genuine Mazdaspeed front/sides it's not high on my list right now. I do think the car will look a lot nicer when its lowered a tad. The next big upgrade is the BHR/MM turbo kit, that will take most of my "adding neat things to my car" budget for a while as I'm getting married this Sunday. After the turbo, probably Tokico D-Specs/Swift springs, and possibly some new rims if I can find a set that look better than stock to me. Maybe a big brake kit. I don't know, I refuse to do much else to the outside of the car until the performance gets bumped up.
