my 1st track day @ summit point

here are some pics my friend took on my first day out on the track. it was a blast! i think i found a new hobby next time i want to go out to a Mazda event at Summit Point. the club i went with is a Porsche club, Shattenbaum. great people, made my first experience a wonderful one. i ordered some pics from a professional photographer, but they won't get to me in another 2 weeks...so stay tuned.

it's the Autoexe front bumper. no lap times, we were all to busy on the track and having way too much fun. i'm going to post an in-car-video from my friend's M3...you'll see my car in there. i'm using Falken Azenis ST-115 235/40R18 and 265/35R18...they're pretty good.

video! *caution - 100mb (right click save as)

this car was made for the track. brakes are awesome, steering response is perfect, and the power band isn't bad at all. my friend's supra is pushing about 400 hp and the camera car (E36 4 dr. M3) is stock. next event i will definately have to mock up my own camera

it's a long video btw. almost 19 mins.

i didn't have any intentions of tracking this car when i first bought the wheels. they're basically for looks. but honestly, the car handles perfectly fine with the staggered setup. to me, atleast. my car is my daily driver...so i will mod it for the street. let's not get into the whole staggered debate...cause it doesn't apply to me.

the more you start tracking the car, the more it will.

I wasnt trying to start a debate. I was just asking why you went with the setup you did. didnt mean to step on any toes.

oh i understand. if i do decide to start tracking the car more often, i will probably go with either 9 or 9.5 all around. but i like keeping my baby clean, so i won't be tracking that often...maybe once or twice a year. you didn't step on any toes bro...s'all good in the hood

I guess i take it for granted that getting some seat time is fairly expensive. Me and reddevil go up to gingerman in southern michigan fairly regularly, like twice a month, because it is 60$/nite for 3 hour open sessions. wow im spoiled. cant wait to hit road america in october though.
