Nominations end on the 15th, and I will start a poll thread for voting on the 16th. The poll will close on the 31st and whoever has the most votes (popular vote, no electorial college here!) will win RX8 Of the Month for March.

 

seems like they should win for the month of April....since they won't find out till the 31st of March whether they won....and then they could have the whole month of April to spread the excitement...and the next winner would be determined on April 30....and they would be for May?

I was just actually looking at how to setup a poll, and you can only select 10 thing to vote on (in this case, 10 cars). So it looks as if only 10 cars can be voted and on, and thus able to go onto the Voting Thread. There are already 10 nominees!
Is there anyway to allow for more voting numbers? This is why I wanted to get this in it's own subforum, so it can be a little more custom. But if I can only do 10 at a time, it looks like the first 10 cars to be nominated are the ones that get in.
So as of now, Nominations are closed!

 

run off election....stop nominations on the 15th...then, if you have more than 10 cars nominated...put the names on pieces of paper and draw out of a hat. Put the first ten drawn, in the first voting poll...and then the second group of ten in a second voting thread. Put top five winners from both threads into a final voting thread...sort a like a primary election.....for local and state elections....

Eventually, the number of nominees will dwindle (maybe)...as those who win can't be nominated again?

 

Sounds good, but then people have to vote twice (once in each thread) and then in the primary poll as well. Also a lot of work.
It might just be easier to only except the first 10 nominations.
But the best part of your idea is more people have the potential to win, opening it up to a greater base of people.
So, say there are 16 nominations total. I will start one thread with 8 randomly selected nominees, and another with the remaining 8 nominees. People vote once in each thread for their favorites. The top 5 of each poll then go onto the final voting thread, where the final official winner will be selected.
The only problem wit that is- nominations should run shorter (because we have more to vote on). So, perhaps end nominations on the 10th, start a poll that last until the 20th for the primary voting, then the final voting poll will end on the 31st?
