The day after I installed the intake the idling problems were basically gone (i.e. it has stalled only one time since then).

I know that mikeb and my10ae both have the K&N installed on an auto. They should be able to tell you if they've seen any problems.

Vivid Racing is supposed to get the optional carbon fiber heat shields around the middle of Feb. Maybe we can get Huff to post a photo?

The RX8 Store just received a shipment of new intakes that include an aluminum heat shield. Maybe Jason can post a photo?

Hi all:

I'm the first 8 in the video clip Spaed Racer put up. I have had not "real" problems with my intake. The car did run rough for the first 30-50 miles (ECU learning?) and now everything runs excellent. My 8 has never stalled on me since the install.

I would like to get the CF heat shield when avalaible from VR. I think it is the last piece to ensure no warm air from the radiator makes it into the intake. I did leave in my bottom air box tray...

Hmm. Other than the idle and low power manuever I hear very little differnce in the "test drive" full accelerations of borla vs. stock exhaust with both having K & N intake. ALthough some on here like the popping backfire, it is a side-effect I don't want.

The intake though makes a BIG difference.
