just put in my IPT cover..

Just got my IPT engine cover from rx8garage. Finally, my engine by is almost complete. Just need to get a radiator shroud and I'll be done.. oh yeah, and Racing Beat has to release their g'damn intake.. so I can get a cover made for that too..

Anyhow, here are some more pics of my engine bay decked out in carbon fiber.

Looks nice, but personally I don't get mod's like that. Keep in mind I have never messed around modding a car YET, but to me that's just a waste of me.

TO ME, it looks nice and congrats making your 8 look nicer, but the car looks good already so if it WAS ME I would mod performance, weight saving, suspension...way before messing with the looks of the car.

Again, it looks nice and congrats...just my two cents...(maybe if I had MO MONEY I would do stuff like that...LOL)

Well, I bought the IPT cover through rx8garage (www.rx8garage.net) for $250. I got the fuse, battery, and PCM covers through a company called carbonwerks (www.carbonwerks.com) for $150. All of them are pretty high quality. I'm very happy with them.

No, it's the real IPT cover. Not a cover or anything like that. Replaces the stock cover.

Very slick - I Was toying around with the idea of repainting my cover body-colour, minus a few areas of black/shiny...but that CF cover looks really good, and saves me the trouble.

I can't find it on their page; is it not up on their site yet, or am I a dummy?

btw, it fits over the Mazdaspeed strut tower brace perfectly. Unlike the stock engine cover which won't fit.

IPT is not trimming their covers so that they fit over the MazdaSpeed strut bar. I asked about that before I bought it. If it wasn't going to fit over the strut bar, I wouldn't have bought it.

can someone tell me where or how or if u can even paint the engine covers? I cant get anywhere in the whole dam city to even mess with it... im winning blue and want them somewhat close to body color... is this possible? could u use a thin layer of bondo or something and use the normal winning blue paint or am i dreaming? any suggestions would be great

and i love the carbon fiber and wish i could afford it

Regarding fitment over the bar: does the cover not rub on the brace? I remember someone posted pictures that showed the cover touching the bar and leaving marks.
If there is sufficient airspace between the cover and the brace, then this is a perfect solution for those who want the MS bar and keep the engine cover as well.

err... i screwed that up.. they ARE trimming the covers so they fit.. talk about the king of all typos... someone crown me..

Also, I put a small peice of electrical tape just on top of the MS strut bar while the IPT cover is there (Thanks Polak for mentioning that to me a while back). That way it doesn't scratch the strut bar.
