Hi, a new face on the forum
Hi all,
I have been lurking for the past 1 month but I am finally settling with the idea of being a RX-8 owner and I am loving it, so I thought I will take the next step and introduce my car to the forum. So here's some pics, I love the way it looks but any suggestions you guys have on what I can improve cosmetics wise are most welcome.

I live in Durham, NC. Meets sound like fun, I feel like I am ready to get real crazy about the 8, I would just need to get some good ideas from people more experienced than me. Where's a good place to go and learn about upcoming meetings?
Check this out! https://www.rx8club.com/deals-gap-rotary-rally-111/dgrr-10-april-16-18th-2010-a-185491/ This is basically the biggest meet of the year and its close to you
Welcome. Did you just buy it? Looks like you have the dark chrome wheels from a Shinka with the rotary caps. The Mazdaspeed kit does not look authentic though, unless it was repainted all yellow, and has some minor fitment issues it seems. Other than that it's a great choice!
Yeah the kit does have some minor fitment issues, that I have started noticing lately, but only after i bought it! Especially on the front, I think the previous owner has had a couple of minor incidents when parking since it's way lower than usual parking place stoppers. To be honest I did touch one of those .... just slightly the first day
haha but anyway, I'll be looking into fixing it up, may be change it altogether. Still just gathering ideas.
Otherwise yes, I just bought it about a month or so ago. My previous car was my parents hand down VW Passat for the last 4 years, which I still love very much but the 8 fits my style way better. When I first decided I want a new car I was split between the Nissan 350Z, the RX-8 and as mostly a distant afterthought a Mustang (being a grad student, cash considerations limited me to just used cars, but oh boy would I love to have been choosing between the R3 and Nissan 370Z.) So after several months of careful search, I found the LY RX-8 which I ended up buying and a pretty cool looking blue 350Z. At that point it wasn't even a competition though. Most materials I read online and advice I got from people who know cars pointed to the 8. After 2 test drives of each I was sold, the 350Z is a great idea of what could be an amazing car, but I felt like Nissan just did not execute it anywhere near the level at which Mazda has built the RX-8. So yeah, I hope I have not lost you guys' respect for even considering the Z haha.
Oh and lastly, those are shiny 5-spoke wheels. The pictures were taken with my phone and they don't really do all that much justice to the car
I plan on spending some quality time with it this weekend cleaning and waxing, I'll try to get a new set of higher quality pics when she's at her best.

Hi - Welcome
This forum is great - As I'm in NZ there does not appear to be a lot of 8's around, so having access to you all has been really helpful. Does make getting to your meet's a little hard ..
Cheers
Greg
