Anybody that got rooked into paying $42K for a GTO definitely got the shaft. That's insane, and even when the 2004's were brand new, the HIGHEST I ever heard was $5000 over the MSRP of $35K.

I paid $30-31K for mine brand new. Many others have negotiated the same if not better prices.

I did post them on the GTO boards, and they liked em. so there. LOL.
and 42k?? lol wow. I got mine for like, 24.5 out the door in 06. Best bang for the buck out there. Comfortable ride, fast as hell, decent gas mileage. The suspension does suck in stock form, but the RX8's torque sux in stock form too, so, it is what it is...and BTW, my suspension isnt stock.

The guy who paid 42K for his GTO; he worked with me at Best Buy at the time, not as management.

He bought it new with all the options, + the exhaust so I'm thinking it was the loan-interest and accessories that bumped him into the 40's..

I don't think he was a very smart guy.. But at least he had a very cool, loud car.

The only options are whether its an automatic or six speed, and if it comes with 17" or 18" wheels.

I guess he may have opted for the dealer installed SAP ground effects kit. It comes with an axle back exhaust system with different tips. It's all really expensive... so maybe he paid sticker for everything and somehow got it up to 42K new.

No, not very smart, in my opinion. I don't like the kit very much. Not worth $7,000
