Thumbs up GT4 Preview Movie

Found this on the official Sony Japanese website.

It's a preview movie for the upcoming Gran Turismo 4 to be released on 3rd December 2004.

It takes a while to load, but it's definitely worth the wait, just like the release of the game.

Unfortunately there aren't any action sequences with the RX8, but worth a look anyway.

I doubt it...there are many imitators of GT but they don't feel as real as GT.

I think he is talking about Forza Mostorsport

Looks like it will be a really good game to me, especially with the online play.

I love the GT line, but there has always been a little something missing, especially in the "real" department. For a racing simulator, there are some glaring exclusions of reality. The AI comes to mind, as does damage.

Still awesome games though!!

Yeah im with TT, GT is about as good as it gets. It will take a gigantic effort for any other game to take its place as the racing simulator champ!

it is the best racing sim out there cause there aren't really any other racing sims in that genre. Most racing games are arcade style. I have read some good things about Forza, if they come through, it could be a GT beater. Especially since it has damage and online play as well as cars like ferraris!

Yeah.. GT4 does loose points for no initial Online play. "Will come in the future".. WTF is that ! Im debating on if I want to put it in my stable now, or wait for the online version..

I'm going to speculate a little bit here and say that I think Sony has some "money-spinning" plans for the GT4 franchise.

Initially, they released the Prologue disc to generate some interest and make a few dollars, then comes the GT4 game to make the serious money.

After that will be the "expansion disc" to introduce online game play, to keep the cash registers turning over.

My bet is that in order to play GT4, you will need to have the Prologue disc, and to play the later "expansion-online gaming disc", you will need GT4.

Sony are shrewd operators and know how to corner the market once they are onto a winning formula.

The scary thing is, we can forsee it happening, and yet, we will still continue to buy the games.

As I said, I am purely speculating, but my money's on this occuring.
