The only "mods" I'm seriously considering for the nordic green RX-8 I hope to pick up from the dealer tomorrow are the silver fuel filler cap and the strakes...

I can't seem to figure out how to get the search option here to actually search for "green" AND "strakes" -- so I thought I'd ask if anyone has a pic of one? I'm thinking the shiny silver details should set off nicely against the dark green... But I'd love to see it before I bother.

Something to consider. Accessorizing an 8 is addictive. I know, now your saying "just strakes." And soon you go for some other recreational accessories like clear corners, MP3, bulbs. But soon you'll be moving onto the harder stuff like a Borla. If you don't get help you may end up with a "MazdaSpeed Kit" Save yourself now! Before it's too late

I made the stupid standard newbie post in one of the other forums about how far you can go before you end up voiding the warranty, so I don't know that I'll bother with too much at first. Plus, I'm one of those "mechanically declined" kind of people, so that puts a crimp in anything serious.

But strakes... I think I can handle strakes.

Strakes were easy, I did mine tonight.

$350/month? Dang, if my payment were that low I wouldn't need a sponsor. :D

 

I traded in a 2001 Pontiac Aztek for $8600 and put another $5k down in cash (well, on my Amazon.com credit card -- that's $50 in gift certificates right there ) Fought for a 3.9% rate and got the price down to a few hundred over invoice.

I didn't have anything owed on the Aztek (got acquired by Yahoo at one point -- unfortunately, right as the stock tanked, so the 'tek was the ONLY thing I got out of that...)

Gonna be pretty wierd goin' from the 'tek to the '8, though -- I can't wait!

I'll take some pictures of it when I get it, make this thread a little more on-topic.

Oh yeah, on topic...sorry about that. The aforementioned Nordic Green with strakes search...the one link up there was a pretty nice looking Nordic Green. :D

As far as the fuel filler cap...now I have taken a look at that one and haven't figured out how hard it is to install. I'm mechanically inclined too. Let us know how difficult. Thanks.

 

Thanks for the pointer TheDosDog. I've been looking sideways at my Nordic Green wondering what clear corners would look like and now that I've seen the NG in that thread, I'm convinced. Gotta get 'em!

The strakes look GREAT on the NG! You've got to get the front and rear rotary accents as well!

Oh, and swap out those Bose tweeters for Image Dynamics NX30s.

And, and...

 

Bleah. At least another day before I get my car, so at least another day before I can post pictures.

Apparently they didn't manage to finish the "clear armor" stuff today. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow afternoon...

maybe it's just me , but everytime I see starkes on the car.... they're not striaght.... anyone having this problem with having to adjust them all the time ?
