Glad you posted your pics. I have LY (the hottest of all the 8's) and have been debating about tint. Never owned a yellow car before and wasn't sure how good it would look.

Yeah I just got mine done and it turned out a lot darker than expected, I'm guessing the factory tint was a little darker than norm?

 

factory glass meters around 75% like any other car. has nothing to do with the glass...

The fronts are definately a safety hazard.

I thought NJ tickected Tinted windows.

 

sorry not trying to hijack thread but does this mean....if I were to tint my windows with 35% tint, it would actually be darker than 35% due to some built in tint from the factory?

I just had to rip all the tint off mine a month ago cause it didnt pass inspection. The previous owner had tinted too dark.

yes...that's exacty what it means. i installed 32% on my RX-8 and it meters at 26%. that's how all vehicles are and tinters have to take that into account in order to meet legal specs. the 15% on the back of that yellow 8 at the top of this thread probably meters around a 9% or 10%.

I think it looks badass. who gives a rats *** about NJ and the safety issue. He can see out of it!

 

no saftey hazard at all, if anything it helps. i wear glasses and sunglasses arnt really an option for me so on those bright days it helps.

it wont pass nj insepction but im good until 10/08.....it is also against the law but i have Law Enforcement License Plates and a Military Id, hopefully one of those will keep me outta trouble...
