I know you're just kidding but has anyone seen the show where these guys think that these orbs are anything but dust particles?

dust particles now come in a perfect circle size. They also come rotor shaped as well.

If you took pictures in the rain previously it would have left residue on the lense in that fashion, that's what he means.

My old camera did the same thing. What sucked is that I always took very good care of it, but somehow those particles got inside the lens.

never had my camera out in the rain. but a rain pic of my 8 would probably look sick. probably just dusty camera, or dusty garage new house.

The dust I was refering to is in the air any not on your lense. This "globe" occurs when you have a camera that has a flash close to it's lense. The light reflected off the dust particle causes a spot of over exposure. If your flash is further away from your lense the angle of refraction increases and you don't get "globes". This kinda stuff happens especially with smaller more compact cameras.

Oh and you are correct that dust is not circular - so they must be ghosts.
