GA A few pictures of the track wheels/tires

I went for a little drive today to heat cycle my tires and figured I'd take a few pictures of them on. Hopefully I'll have some on track pics of them in a couple of weeks.

I'm very interested to see how these do on the track compaired to your 18's. You should bring both sets to RRR and swap them out, see which ones give you the fastest times

So hot.... what's the sizes on the rims and tires? I want tires that bulge around the rims like that... thinkin about putting 255/40/18 or 245/40/18 on my stockers.

Oh yeah, and Don't put 255's on stock wheels. Keep it at 245.

I'll have both sets there. I may run a couple sessions with the 18's since I haven't tried the RE01-R's on the track, just the 275 Azenis, which should have nothing left after this weekend at TGPR.

Looks mean!

No upgraded F&R strut bars?

I wonder if this setup could turn 1.0g on a skidpad.

Great work!

Cost/benefit of strut bars to me is not worth it. The only benefit I see is the brake master cylinder brace on the Mazdaspeed front strut bar. I'm positive with these tires it would turn 1.05-1.10 on the skidpad. I know somewhere I had seen someone do a skidpad test with the 275/35 Azenis and they got 1.05, and compared to the Nittos my Azenis feel like all seasons, lol. I've been on the skidpad with my Azenis, I may take a few turns around the skidpad with the Nittos and take some readings.

I wanted the Gold wheels but are concerned about the scratches and dings from the track.

It would look like carp and any touch up would probably look crappy.

On the bright side it may take a few years before anything happens to the wheels.

Looks great. Good choice.

Ya, it's my only car, but I wouldn't exactly call it a daily driver. I don't drive to work and really only drive it for fun when I feel like it.

+1

This is my biggest pet peeve w/ 8 owners. So much time/work/$ spent on making it look gorgeous and then you see a layer of carbon induced filth covering the tips.

Love the setup though, looks hot. IMO black rpf's would look much better but hot nonetheless. Nice work!
