Wow, certainly a sevenstock full of interesting twists for the phoenix crew. Glad that you were LUCKY enough there was a manifold not 100 feet from where you parked.

Thanks to everyone to gave Easy a hand as it would have been tough times without being able to get a manifold.

That was the funniest thing I had ever seen. I got to the banquet and everyone asked if I had seen his car. I had earlier in the day but it was still in one piece! That was the first time I had ever seen someone blow up something like that on their car hundreds of miles away from home and think it was funny.

There is no point in crying about something like this. Something I have learned over the years. It's better to laugh than cry.

Well it drove home fine but itt wouldn't idle below 1300 rpm and I had a CEL of P0507. RPM out of range high basically. Well she ran fine to get home but today I went to MM's and decided to check the throttle body. And low and behold it had bent the butterfly about 3 mm's back. That explains the high idle code. In the bottom of the throttle body you can see how far off the plate is.

Glad you got to drive home Easy!

I was amazed how fast a repair came together, out of town and on a (basically) a Sunday.

If Monte didn't have his parts car sitting there at the hotel, it would have been a very different story.

Next your floorboard should fall out.

There was a moment or two there when I was contemplating the necessity of building a new manifold for Easy out of duct tape and cardboard.
Indeed, having Monty there with his wreck saved the day.
