Difference between appearance pkg and none?

Can anyone post a pic of the rx8 with the appearance package and one without? I'm going to try to find some time to go back do a Mazda dealership to check it out myself, but I'm hoping in the meantime, some of you can point out the differences for me. Thanks a lot!

I always assumed I'd get the appearance package. But after seeing pics of it without it (that's what I assume) it looks perfectly GREAT without it. Maybe I can save nearly a grand and just go for the touring package for the moonroof.

I can't even decide if I want appearance package or not. My RX-8 doesn't have it but maybe it will.

I kinda wish I got it, but then again I want an aftermarket bodykit eventually. So that would have been a waste of money.

i didn't get it on mine.

I think the app package looks good, but if you plan on getting anything aftermarket, it is definately a waste of cash.

the app package gives you a thin plastic addition under your front bumper, two triangle shaped blocks just in front of your rear tires, and some other block shaped things behind your rear tires.

If you're putting together the app package after you buy your car, keep in mind the rear splash guard looks almost the same as the rear app, but costs about 1/3rd the price. The front app bumper addition also looks good with ms side skirts.

Thanks for the pics! The rotary symbol on the appearance package that shows on the front and the rear, I thought that was the rotary accent package. If I'm mistaken, what exactly is the rotary accent package?

As I explained earlier, the app package adds a front, side and rear bits to your car. Nothing else.

The rotary accents are the metal triangle bits on the front and rear. They are basically thin bits of metal with double sided tape. You can buy them at any time and stick them on.

Here are the app items highlighted. If you want to see shots of the same exact setup without the app package, click my sig.

Oh yea? Wow they're expensive for just little thin metal stickers.

Thanks again for all the info. I still can't figure out which to go with. But the rotary accent is definitely something I'd want. Ah well, I still have some time to figure things out.

I have never reallly thought of getting anything as far as appearance, to add to the car. But it sounds like it may make more sense to just get it without the appearance package and then have the option to add something later or just keep it off. The only thing I really like about the appearance package is the front, not the side. But having one without the other will probably not look very good.

Regardless as to whether you get the appearance package, I would recommend getting the front splash guards. Try this link: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/my-new-rx-34188/
