I just shat myself
Every time I see this car I think of two things:
1. When I first saw it as a little kid, and I complimented the fat, blond-headed woman who squenched out of it.
2. Men in pink shirts and tight jeans who are best described as "~fabulous~"...
I'm sure it really is fun to drive! But it's enjoyable in the same way I'd enjoy a strawberry-bannana daiquiri in a curvy glass with an umbrella.

I just noticed the turbo kits for these things are super cheap.

edit - I guess if you only paid $1400 for the car . . $1300 for a turbo is not really that cheap

My miata was $1,200 (by the way, nice find Debub, for $1,400, yours is very clean!) but the parts already on the car are WAAAY more. hell the 99 engine I had put in was almost as much as the car (installed it was more!). same with the Mazdaspeed cutch diff. :-/
but thats what I am starting to like about miatas. the price of the car is right, and parts are easy to find.
Maybe one of these days I we will get my wife a daily driver miata???? I get the racer and she gets the driver?

I took a ratty soft top like that outa my car on Thursday (the day we got it home). the top is tan and dirty but in goo shape, the rear platic window is destroyed though. I thought that was kinda cool that it had a rear window that unzipped.
Paid a grand for the engine its self and $500 for the guy to install it. (I just didnt feel like messin with a motor swap on a car that I dont know yet.) its not the 94-97 engine, its the 99-00 engne. oh and I paid the $200 for the converssion kit from flyin miata. so roughly $1700 is what It cost me just for the swap.

You gotta admit, having your chin higher than the windshield was pretty funny.
HKS did make a kit for the 1.6, but I'm pretty sure FM did a better job.
Personally, I'd leave the car mostly stock with the exception of the turbo and a maxed-out suspension.
