Ok so I've been taking my ideas to paper and I saw a pic that caught my eye which is the rotor with an 8 in it....soooo i thought of the mazda symbol and I did my research and really is a pair of wings not an M. I decided to combine the two and got this. Hand drawn on the right and the one on the left was done on cad.
Im thinking of making a decal out of this and maybe using it in my custom shift **** to be made by knobmeister.

Opinions and thoughts!!!

haha thanx bro, that would so sooo sick if they would use this and I get a patent on it! I guess I should just email mazda? How should I do this?

Looks pretty good, I'd get one if it had the 8 the way I like it there's a guy here that does decals. Maybe you could get ahold of him and see if you two can work something out

Well the 8 in the rotor is cool but idk about those wings. Doesnt really seem like they would fit in with the car.

 

The 8 looks like a snake and makes me think of a Mustang

Yea that's true, to each their own. I am still working on it. I'm not completely with it satisfied myself either. I'll post up some new/improved designs in the near future!

hmm i originally saw this andi dont think you meant to do it intentionaly, but you should make the bottom of the 8 another rotor, it would sort of mock the upright rotor that it sits in. it sort of looks like you did it by accident in the picture drawing. but then again that may take it a little to far. not a fan of the wings either but regardless, its interesting.

I think loose the wings and it's good.

It's similar to the rx7 emblem they had back on the FD's.

Yea I know lol my bad:D I didn't mean to steal someones idea like that I just needed somewhere to start and get ideas flowing but Im in the middle of changing it up. I'm just going to make a couple of designs and see which looks best. I originally had one with just the rotor and the wings that way it could be applied to an RX-7 and an RX-8 and those that would follow after. I'm also going to try rx8speciale's idea. I once did a tattoo design for a friend with wings and his kids initials in the middle. Below is a pic of it. Maybe I could apply that in some way...

 

There's also this drawing of a pair of wings with "something shining" in the middle (below), I just made it to look like a star. This would be an example of what the drawing would look like with just an object in the middle versus having a word in the middle.

 

Ok so like I said I did a couple. Some are the same just with or with out some parts to see which is best/better.
