Custom Jl W7 Intsall White Water Pearl
Whats up fellas.... I Got the car back from the good guys at IAC Custom here in Toronto (Frank the installer is sick).
Anyways I use to go all out on systems and do the whole fiberglass install etc... But I decided to go with an install more classy/subtle that blends well with the Aesthetics of the rest of the car. Plus i didnt want to mod it too much to the point i cant return it back to stock (like my other cars) In total 2 small holes were drilled into the car to keep the sub box from moving, not a single other mod.
I have the Stock BOSE Head unit and tapped the wire BEFORE the AMP.
Cheers!
The finish is Alcantara (suede)
System consists of the following:
DLS A6 AMPLIFIER
2 X JL 10W7
NAVONE LOC
AUDIO CONTROL 4.1
ALL STINGER AND STREETWIRES

can you explain to me one more time how you hooked up the amp to the stock head unit? i've been searching and cant find anything, and this guy from Best buy says there's an adaptor for our cars that will enable us to use the RCA cables??
wuga? im so confused.. i have a set of 10's sitting in my closet from my last car, but i havent really found the means to put them in the 8 yet.... mainly because im not sure how to without having to purchase a new HU.

PS: its pretty damn loud, enough to make your nose hairs tingle... and PS: I managed to get 2.75 cubic feet of box space in the 8's trunk... Just perfect for a pair of 10w7's sealed..

WOW! i love that setup. i can only imagine how loud that is. it looks VERY clean AND you somehow managed to put TWO 10W7's in the trunk and it still looks like you have a good deal of trunk space.
what is the power rating of your amp? and is it enclosed by plexi or is it open?
again, WOW. that is an awesome setup in your trunk.

Very neat and clean. fibreglass is very common nowadays. Great quality products. How's the bass in the cabin area? I see the sub enclosure ends right up to where the back board / parcel shelf ends, and a panel from side to side. Is'nt this restricting the bass to be able to return into the cab.

The in Cabin bass is simply overwhelming I have and a pair of 13w7's before in my Millenia and that was just sickening loud. The 10w7's are TIGHT they are real punchy Ive loved the sound of them eversince i installed one in my brothers 530.
its quite loud but i attenuate them for everyday listening and they blend quite nicely with the front end.

They did a nice install. Do you get much rattling of your trunk lid when you stand outside the car or did they have to Dynamat everything?
Just wondering, is the box sealed between the drivers at all? That makes a difference in the pressure within the enclosure and can overextend the excursion.

single chamber, Im running enough power to get the full potential outa them. One thing I have to do is add some poly-fil in the box to help with rear standing waves. I will do that today probably.
As for shows yes the car will be in a few of them this year...
Im shaving the wheel wells in 2 weeks cause i rub in the rear with 275's and 33 offset.

I do get some vibration, but not too bad, its hard to get rid of all of them despite the entire trunk being deadened. My biggest surprise was the rear deck not rattling, all that plastic on the back rear deck where the 6 x 9's are, i thought it would rattle like crazy. But its fine with the deadener.
I still have about 25 or so sq ft left of the deadener. when it gets warmer I will hunt for the odd rattles and deaden the area.
