WOW, where did this whole thing even come from?! It's ridiculous. I mean I have crashed my 8 but I don't think there is a curse on it at all! it was just the stupidity of other drives.

Silver curse comes from the abnormal amount of RX8 accidents involving silver rx8's.

Has anyone considered that maybe silver is just extrememly common :uhh:

in all fairness, that psycho has at least got her body back to tip top tap-able shape.

BINGO!! Take a look at the first photo, there are two other Silver cars in that pic. Its a very common color that blends in with the road. Silver is also hard to see in bad weather.
I don't have that issue owing a Lighting Yellow :)

actually sunlight silver nearly glows through the rainy season here. which is september thru june. its crazy bright . the Tits definitely are hard to see tho

and you all are wrong about the origin. Of course Britney sitting her (at the time) quite fine ass on the hood of a silver and autographing it didnt help, but...

That was my only time that I have wrecked it but only by hitting an oil spot in the rain causeing me to jump a curb... All the other times have been hit and runs (they are famous in my city)..

silver is the only color of rx-8 to be ran over by a tank. that is proof enough to me that the curse is real

i just saw a totaled 8 on the freeway recently when i was in the passenger seat of my friend's car...the 8 was silver...:eyetwitch

Not a curse. As has been mentioned, you can't see them. They are the same color as the highway. Even more so when the road is wet.

I was at Daytona during the 24 hours around dusk when a car on the tri-oval was having problems and was not up to speed. Along came a fast prototype that ran over the slower car,destroying both cars. Guess what color the slower car was??? GREY

No grey car for me!

silver is one of the most common colors on the road.

Its not a curse, its the fact that there's more silvers on the road than PB's, BB's, LY's, etc etc.

Second most common is probably VR, is there a curse for that also? :uhh:

i took my silver 8 over the curb going 55, 2 weeks after buying it.... this never would of happened if i bought the black one.

Exactly. In fact I too was part of an unfortunate accident that was my fault. A dark silver car came up over a hill just as I was going to take a left in my Jeep.

Ironically, the cars I owned after the Jeep were both silver. I risked it ;)

I think this has less to do with a silver car and more to do with the "curse of the red jeep".

i'm completely convinced that there is a curse of the Sunlight Silver 8's...i'll never own a silver 8...

on a side note, over the summer i sold an 84 RX-7 that i cherished. it was a Sunbeam Silver metallic GSL. it had 55K original miles. the paint was near flawless(obvious repaint on the front nose..collision maybe..curse maybe.) i bought it and it needed a clutch...i pull the trans, clutch, and attempt to remove the pilot bearing...i have the oem pilot bearing puller....and the pilot bearing was heat seized to the eccentric shaft. that was nothing short of a nightmare....the brakes would always squeal, the clutch pedal never felt quite right...you know, for a car with so few miles you think it would have been worlds better than it was...the curse might have been in effect in the 80's as well...just like a virus...growing..waiting to pounce..

maybe because most people drive like f*cktards

I always drive with my lights on as well to be seen better.
