Colors-The Rundown
Hey I'm looking to buy a RX8 in about 4 months. I've been to the dealer and seen the colors and heres what I think IMO. I'm probably going to buy either a sunlight silver, titanium gray, or brilliant black.
Velocity Red- Look great but stands out a little too much.
Brilliant Black- Also very good looking, but it is hard to keep clean and hides some of the 8's lines.
Winning Blue- Very clean, bright look yet I want to get the Red/Black interior...
Titanium Gray- A good color; it doesnt stand out as much yet it can be noticed
Nordic Green- Well green just isn't my cup of tea
Sunlight Silver- Very nice color, lightens up the car and makes the front lights look real sharp.
Lightning Yellow- Wasn't at the dealer...I think it looks good in pics though
So I just want to know all of your opinions on the colors, to help me with my decision. Thanks.

I really love the red and it's sparkly color. Do you think it will get too many cops? Im still in high school and ii dont want a car that will be seen from a mile away because it seems more likely to get keyed or something. Geez maybe im just worrying too much...

I have seen the Silver, Black, Blue and Titanium, and I own the red. If I were to give a preference, other than my red, I would have to go with the Titanium, then the Blue, after that, the black. I am not a big fan of silver and wouldn't do green on any car, just my preference. Yellow, now if it were on the lot when I went to get mine, I might just have been driving a yellow 8 these days, I have always liked yellow for sports cars and classic rods. Those are the colors I have actually witnessed.
The yellow is going bye bye in '05 and being replaced by white.
Now, for red...this is best viewed in sunlight. The little sparkly metal flakes just sparkle immensely dazling you to the point where you will be staring and smiling and drooling. As far as the police noticing, most people have nick-named red as "arrest me red" but, I have yet to be pulled over in my 4 months of owner ship and I drive spiritedly on a regular basis.

Don't let the lack of interior options force you away from the exterior you want. Do a search on "classic soft trim" to see some examples -- you can get a 2-tone like the factory in many color combos.

Depends on your objective..
If you want the honeys to notice... yeah red.
Silver just seems to blend into everything else.. at least that's how I feel like in my silver.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the colors, get what you like. You will love driving the 8 and people notice the car (unfortunatly so do the cops) no matter what color it is.

hmmm, well I think it will either be red, titanium, or black. I'm not sure about black because I've never seen a clean one in real life (the ones at the dealer look like they havent been washed in a WHILE). I guess I should go back to the dealer and look at them some more. I sure dont want to regret something this important down the road.

Titanium is the way to go for sure, I like all the colors except Yellow and Silver.
Nothing against silver, just too damn many of them already.
Yellow is way too loud for my tastes.

Hey \\Konig\\ I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm also in high school and want to get a red RX-8, but don't wan't all of the attention (from the police, not the babes). But I'm going to risk it and get it anyways cuz its how it makes ME feel, not other people that matters.
Oh, just watch out for bridges when speeding and buy yourself a good radar detector, because I promise you you will rarely go under the speed limit with this car. You'll be going 90 mph before you know it (as I did in my 1/2 mile test drive on the I-99).

I've had my Silver 8 with red/black interior for 5 days now and the one word everyone uses to describe the car is "Classy".
On the other hand, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the colours as they all look great- Just a shame that here in Oz we only get 2 interior colour options.
PS...Colour does not make the car stand out- the shape does a good job on its own...

Red, Blue, or Yellow! The other colors are too bland IMHO. It was a tough choice but once I saw the red/black interior, it was a no brainer, I got red. BUT there's a very very nice Yellow with a custom yellow/black interior here that is awesome. I'm sure a Blue with a Blue/Black interior would also be cool. Reminds me of the old blue/black tours with Blue Oyster Cult and Black Sabbath, two awesome bands touring together. I can't beleive I never attended any of their concerts!

Yellow all the way for me. I'll be getting the interior redone someday but I have always been a fan of fast yellow cars. Get what you like and don't worry about what anyone else says, if I had listened to the majority of people here I wouldn't be in the color of car that I have always wanted, and for what? Don't let anyone persuade you against what you want, except maybe your spouse. And then you can negotiate.
