Doesnt Ford own Mazda?
Anyway this thing looks like a cheaper, uglier version of the Austin Martin.
I do love the lights though.
Does any1 know wtf they are and if they make them for regular cars?

Front wheel drive car with a big overhang. Doesn't work for me.
Autoweek had a picture at a more flattering angle and it looked even more like an 8. No getting around the corporate sharing.

Are you guys kidding me? It's so obvious by the overall proportions and fenders that it IS an RX-8, modified as a Ford model. They're doing the same thing here that they have been doing for some time now. They can't build cars worth crap for themselves, so they buy a company that makes good cars and puts their own crappy engine in it. Examples: Ford 500 and Freestyle are built off the Volvo S60 platform, Ford Fusion is a Mazda 6. The next euro Focus is a Mazda 3 / Volvo S40. I'm just wondering what crappy motor they put in there.
Chances are, it'd sell well considering that the general public is afraid of owning a rotary engine, but would love the car with the more swooping C-pillar and a reciprocating engine. Fear not, though, as it would likely become front-heavy and, unless they put some monster forced-induction motor in it, it wouldn't likely be faster than the RX-8.

Anyone else notice it appears it might be a hatchback. Would be cool if they solved the whole can't fit anything in the trunk problem the RX8 has.
And seriously who care's if it's a rebadged RX8 with a piston engine. I like the styling, personally. Not to mention platform sharing benifits almost everyone, especially if they started sharing alot of the same parts.
It would in turn make the RX8 cheeper to work on. Time will tell....
