In Car HD video Eric Meyer VIR 1 lap

One lap at VIR during a NASA Friday test. The car ran a bunch of 2:10's on R80 Hoosier slicks and a few 2:09's. Top speed 137 on the backstraight.

Eric's car isn't stock. And he probably used a different track configuration than C&D did.

I knew his 8 wasnt stock haha but I didnt think he would be able to shave off more than 1 minute... A different track configuration makes sense...

a 2:10 there is a REALLY OK time. Also-- he was driving not that hard.
I wonder what kind of motor mounts he uses.

Kinda fun when you know where he is on the track by listening to the engine note and watching his hands. VIR Full Course, video started at the flag tower.

Sorry I missed you at the Lap Dance, Eric. I'm chained to my desk until the new network is stable enough for the creator to take a weekend off.

It was pretty fun for me to watch the video and listen closely to the motor and the driver's abilty/opportunity to go flat or hold the throttle flat. The more you can go flat the faster you can go. There are places (T3 for example) that I've been working on to go flat and/or go flat on the throttle earlier. You guys might recall that T3 leads to a small straight. Another thing I was trying hard to work on was tracking out to mid track for T4 and holding flat out of 5b to the T10. VERY HAIRY. I made it a few times but you needed very good grip and no traffic. T1 min roll speed approx 52. T3 68 mph. T4 53. 127 up through the esses. 97 through T10. Roll speed 50 through 11/12/oaktree out of oaktree. 55 through the rt hander after the backstraight. 98 to the front of the brake scrub before the entry onto the front straight. Min roll speed 80 on to the front straight. Fun stuff.

Gotta go make the donuts.

E

Stock motor mounts. 2,620 dry weight with cool suit and a few ounces of fuel and no driver. Bone stock fresh rebuild motor with Mazdaspeed/AEM intake and custom header. .89 Lambda tune. Pump gas. 210'ish hp. 150'ish ft lbs.
