lol yeah hood, sorry different side of the world = different terminology.
If its genuine then I would be going back to who I bought it off and asking for a replacement or money back.

from my understanding most cf hoods and trunks are usually a little off as far as fitment. worse brands, means fitment is worse.
It's to be somewhat expected, but if it's bad and not to your liking then ya, possibly send it back.
I could be wrong about all this tho.

CF is for weight issues anyways... IMHO seeing the SPEEDSOURCE RX8 at SEVENSTOCK last year.. its HOOD also HAD GAPS>.... so who cares....... I just dont like CF because I dont like CF...

Did you have to remove your bumper beam?
It's not the hood, check out the gap beneath the headlights - nearly equal to that between the hood and bumper. My guesses are:
A) You had to remove the bumper support so now those metal pieces holding up the bumper got slightly bent down.
B) Not bolted up to the bumper support? Lol, I don't really have an option B guess here...
As imput said tightening too much vs not enough can effect it somewhat as well.
