Calling all Velocity Reds
Yep, my Coupe was well modified, fast, and looked great (IMO) and I still never got any respect from the ladies or anyone else, it was still just a Civic 
I would get a little respect when I spanked someone on the strip but it was short lived.
Although, I won't stand by why people bash the handling aspects, The EG/EJ Civics and 94-00 Teggies can be made to handle seriously well and be very competitive on the track. My buddy had an RSX track car that would embarrass many RWD sports cars.

I would say my civic is probably a bit faster than my r3 but it's also only 2000lbs... My civic has koni's and ground control coilovers and it handles pretty well.
I am defintately taken more seriously in my r3, no doubt about that. I have a lot of people thinking "Oh its just some young kid" when I'm in my civic and they'll cut me off or whatever the case may be.
