Calling All Series II RX-8

I think there should definitely be a picture thread dedicated to the 2nd Generation RX-8s (2009+ models)

Amirite?

Go!

There is a "calling all aurora blue" thread, which by default is limited to the series II R3.

I don't want to see them in only one color. :'(

Besides, the multimedia/gallery sub-thread is under GENERAL TOPICS - which means it includes all series (as it should!)

Perhaps this thread was asking too much. Damn.

I agree with the OP. If it's put in the S2 section it won't be under the multimedia section.

Here's my contribution.

THANK YOU. This thread was possible after all.

Please follow suit people!

Technically you're right, but I didn't know this until after my thread was made. I use the word series and generation interchangeably. Regardless though, the Series II redesign definitely deserves its own thread.

I can't believe there hasn't been an official Series II thread yet as the changes are significant.

I can't edit the title anymore, so a moderator will have to correct this for me.

Ummm...

* Totally different headlights
* Very different tail lights
* Redesigned grill

That's enough to warrant a special thread IMO.

Lets agree to disagree so this thread can stay on topic.

There's a lot more than that but regardless, this is supposed to be a picture thread, so styling changes alone could be enough to warrant a thread.

body kit = styling changes. It's not significant at all. Next thing you know, someone will start posting that their failside body kit is a significant change.

I'm fine with a picture thread, though your choice of words is odd.

FFS! I'm no car expert, so excuse me if my choice of words isn't perfect.

I must be the only one who thinks the front design is very different from prior series. Anyone that has actually owned the older model should realize this. I think it's more than just a body kit too, it's the headlight redesign that really alters the front appearance of the car.

I never imagined this thread would raise so much hell, objections, and criticism. The idea was so simple yet users felt the need to pull their pants down and squeeze a load all over it.

Many times I have come to this forum looking for Series II images specifically, and have always been frustrated to find no dedicated threads for it.

Thanks to everyone who contributes something useful to this thread. Everyone else, please be quiet FFS.

I'd say new front and rear fascias, new fenders, new headlights, new taillights, new wheels, plus all the new interior bits amount to a significant styling change.

I do agree with you that styling alone is not a significant change to a car. However there have been many mechanical updates to the series II: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php?p=3364136&postcount=1 (That's actually why I chose the S2. I think the old one actually looks a little better in some ways.)
