This thread makes me happy that i got the phantom blue rx8 and not the black one, i barely got my 8 last week. 2007 grand touring. and i have to agree with everyone PB is a very different color in person.

The color mazda uses on their site does no justice for how beautiful it really is.

I don't even see this color on the web site anymore, did they get rid of it, along with the nice winning blue. That mica blue doesn't look very good at all.

 

that "mica" blue you are talking about IS Phantom Blue Mica. MazdaUSA.com just does it no justice. Those who haven't seeen PBM in person are always wowed once they do.

 

wow, actually, I just went to MazdaUSA.com and the only blue they have available to build is Stormy Blue...weird, wonder why its not there? Because it was such a bad representation or because it isn't available??

Here's my Phantom.

 

the phantom blue was only made for 2006 models, which is fine by me, make the color even rarer considering they only made 06 models from january to august 2006, something about production delays or something.

It's definitely available for '07. I have one!

It's also up on the Mazda USA website, though as many have said it bears absoultely no resemblence to what the color actually looks like. This confuses me, since a 6 year old with a decent box of crayons could have could have come up with a more accurate likeness.

 

Oh then they discontinued it through half of '07 cause i do remember the car only had a full year run

 

By far my favorite color! My Sunlight silver....still ok. Bronze wheels on PB!.......DAMMMN!!!!!!

Yeah this is the color i want to get so bad because you never really see this color at all on any kind of car and i am kind of tired of Winning blue cause i have a mazda 3 that color

Looks good Late2Break, When I got my 8 I didnt even go to the dealership wanting the 8. Took me 3 times back and forth to do my homework and decide if it was a go for me or not. The only 8 they had there had everything I wanted. If you go everything you wanted always worth the wait. Always bad 2 weeks after you get a car and your like damn should have got this instead.

 

I was not a chrome fan before phantom blue, i also used to drive a sunlight silver protege... but hey... live and learn.
