Calling all Mazdaspeed TAS '06 lookalikes

Saw this picture of the Mazdaspeed concept shown at TAS '06 before I got my 8 and fell in love with it.

I was lucky to find a Mazdaspeed M'z and decided to make it look like the TAS '06 concept (the M'z front bumper was ugly in my opinion anyway). It is still a work in progress. I have changed the front bumper for the one from Accolade:
http://www.body-kit.com/maz06rx8cspec.html

It has original Mazdaspeed wheels like these:

Pls suggest how to make it look more like the TAS '06 concept. Anyone else out there with a TAS '06 replica pls post your pics!

Nice lookin 8. Some rear spacers would really set it off.

Looks decent but the wheel choice and tire choice kind of ruin it. Looks god though, just needs some fine touches.

Wheel choice wasn't really a choice as I wanted to replicate the Mazdaspeed concept's look. These are the original Mazdaspeed item and I love them. The ones in your signature pic look too big for the car. The tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A. Frankly not a great tire, but then I don't have much choice in Pakistan! Have been thinking of getting a set of advan neova ad08.

Spacers would make it look nicer but I have read a lot on this forum about how spacers can change the handling by changing geometry.

I highly doubt you have a lot about that here or anywhere else. I have run spacers with stock wheels and aftermarket wheels for a long time with no issues. And usually people who do comment negatively about them have never ran them and are talking out of their ***.

Spacers are/were used in vintage racing and are used in off roading for many years and in my research I never really found any negative effects of using them other than installation errors (improper torquing of lugs, etc.). Obviously properly sized wheels negate the need for spacers but you have some very original wheels and with the right fitment and stance you could really have an original car.

I hate to say it but I think the "Calling all ____" threads require more than one person to have it :p

Either way, your car looks sick!

Very nice mods on the car.

If you want to further mimic the look of the TAS MS showcar, you can either modify your front fenders, or get replacement fenders (the vents on the show car are bigger with a set of strakes on them) alternately, you can add the OEM strakes to your factory fenders to achieve a similar (but more subdued) look, without cutting your fenders, and at a much more moderate price.

The rotary shaped accent on the hood/ bonnet is painted black on the showcar as well, and as states before, you can add spacers to "fine tune" the stance on your car.

The showcar is also lowered, and you can see significant negative camber in it's stance (but I wouldn't do such a radical suspension geometry on a daily driver)

Overall I think you've done an outstanding job matching th elook of the TAS Mazdaspeed showcar
