I agree, it's like doing a "murdered out" car. It just gets to be too much and you can see any detail at all.

Good looking car tho!

pdxhak 12-10-2015 03:00 PM

Just depends on the caliper. For instance the OE caliper looks better black.

Just bought a yellow car?!

Just kidding:)
(The Pontiak Aztek was possibly most likely the catalyst which plunged GM into bankruptcy.)

Most yellow cars on the road are horrible- the RX-8 pulls it off though. Plus, I have yet to see another yellow one since I bought mine about 3-1/2 months ago.

I haven't been active on this forum for a really long time. Just got my car professionally detailed, and I'm in love with her all over again. Few problems with the motor, and damages on the car got me really down. now that she looks better than the day I picked her up from the dealer, 12 years ago, I couldn't be more happier with her.

BigCajun 07-29-2017 09:50 AM

Just my opinion, but I think it looked better with the stock wheels and hood.
But I'm an old fart.:)

RotaryMachineRx 07-29-2017 11:35 AM

I'm with you on the hood I think (to be honest I'm pretty torn) but the functionality of the vents is why I am keeping it on for now. I used to have the hood on before I had wheels or MS kit and i definitely did not like it then, stuck out like a sore thumb.

Gotta disagree on the wheels though, I'm very happy with those; although they look MUCH better in person as cameras have a hard time contrasting the black with the bright yellow.

BigCajun 07-29-2017 12:44 PM

They are nice wheels, but I'm old enough to remember when nice wheels were a luxury, and most cars had black steelies with wheel covers.
People would lose one or 2 covers, then take all 4 off because they were a PITA to replace & didn't want to bother with them.
That's what they remind me of.
My first car was a 69 Javelin, Hiahleah Yellow, I bought in 1976.
I paid $400 for Keystone Klassics, and another $250 for BF Goodrich white letter radials when most people were still buying bias ply tires, a fortune for a working high school kid back then.

It was supposedly the last new factory engine Pineapple sold.
A member in Tennessee bought it to put in his, but in the meantime someone offered him more than he could pass up for his 8.
He saw I had been interested in a new one aand offered t to me.
I had it installed by Kyle the Rotary Doctor in Neosho, MO.

I made a thread about it.

Mine shows 100K miles of wear & tear from road debris.

We both retired from the daily grind after getting major overhauls.

I'm just going to leave this for all of you LY fans...

It's not my car and I don't know the seller, just figured someone here might be interested.

BigCajun 01-23-2024 02:52 PM

Were headlight washers an option on Canadian models?
I see the plugs.

RotaryMachineRx 01-25-2024 02:57 PM

That's correct, headlight washers are on basically every 8 I've seen up here.
