time to update what I did to mine, I know I kept saying I was going to get rid of my cf but I ended up keeping a little bit. Wish I would have kept that custom trunk now

God, aftermarket hoods always look sexy once they've been painted to match car color.
I really don't know how to feel about CF currently. I've got a white 8, so I can imagine a CF hood looking good on it, but from what I've seen in pictures CF can look kind of funny in direct sunlight. I've never really looked at it up close in person, so I dunno lol.
Great looking car, mscamp.

Laythor, that's a pretty cool idea. Looks sick painted with just a hint of CF.
Another question too... if CF is painted, can it be sanded off and recleared/re gelled to look like it did originally? If not, I'd be afraid to paint mine at the cost of maybe not liking it.

I'd say no, after my hood got keyed I had it recleared with an Acrylic clearcoat. They had to sand down the old gel coat.
When painting they're gonna have to do the same thing, you have to sand the hood pretty good to get al of the old crappy gel coat off so you can apply paint. I'd say once you get it painted your pretty much stuck with a painted CF hood, the chances getting it to look back to normal is very slim.
