Calling all CF hoods/trunks
If you got 'em show me, i'm thinking about getting some carbon fiber parts and i would like to see what's out there and how it looks on your 8.

so ive been told as soon as you get your cf parts you should go get it clear coated before installation to slow down the fading and cracking is this true of not because this is the reason im not getting cf hood and trunk

Yes, all CF will fade eventually unless you clear it and wax it. I learned this years ago, doesn't matter VIS, Seibon, Carbon Creations, etc. Been there done that. It's worth the extra cost fi you want the real look.

Its certainly not a bad idea but i simply wash the car at least once a week and try to get a good layer of wax on it at all times and my hood looks the same it did a year ago when i got it brand new. Seibon has a gel coating already put on there's so maybe VIS is different.

Very nice TS hood, im convinced that's the one i will buy, thanks folks for the pictures. Is it true that the CF hood and trunk weight a lot less than OEM?...

You see the thing about CF hoods and the RX-8 is that the hood is made of VERY lightweight aluminum, the CF normally ranges from being barely less weight, to a little more depending on company. Your not going to be sheding much weight from CF for the 8, but it'll make your car look clean, which is what we all want right???
