so off comes the old suspension parts

and on goes the new ones

the ride is now more smooth due to the better valving, the spring rates are 400 front and 280 rear. I have not aligned or corner balanced yet, right now as it sits there's some under-steering issues, but hopefully that will get solved once i align. I also raised the car a little bit (half an inch) so i can have slightly better ground clearance. Once everything is done i will post some impressions on the overall setup.
and saw this beast getting moved off the lift, sounds very badass, will upload video tommorow

Do you have adequate stroke on those front dampers? After the helpers compress it doesn't look like there's much space before the bump stops, it could be my eyes though...
That 13b Autokonexion miata is pretty cool!

So last week after i came back from Seattle, i yanked the Auto-power bar out of the car because i ordered a AWR racing roll bar. Yesterday i drove down to San Diego where AWR is located to pick it up.
AWR specializes in making rollcages, and have made many bars for spec miatas and one off full cages for mazda race cars
First thing to in order was to rip out all the seats in the car, to make room for the bar. Since unlike Auto-power where everything attaches by bolts, the AWR bar is welded together.
On the website it lists 200lbs for the AWR bar, which i was a little apprehensive about the additional weight. To my relief i found out this 200lbs weight is the shipping weight, the actual bar is a lot lighter and significantly lighter than the Auto-power.

This is what it looks like in the cabin. The bar clears the sunroof and dome light. Yes it was a bitch to put in

Over all i think the AWR is a much better constructed piece. Its a simple but functional approach to making a rollbar for the rx8. The rear attachment to the babyseat mounting points is elegant, and preserves somewhat the usefulness of the backseats that makes the rx8 special.

The only thing coldflame would no longer be one of the only ones with it...
haha according to some numbers on the back of my bar, its the number 11th made. My friend Atom who's also a member on here has it also. I dont really care about being exclusive with my mods, would much rather see more nice modded 8s
edit: oh yea i will try to get pix of people in the back seat tommorow since im going to the shop to do some brake upgrades
