Boxcar's 8 - Not 56k friendly
Well I'll start this off with a HUGE thank you to 09Factor. Thank you for taking the time to take these pics for me!
Here she is after 2+yrs of hard work. She's not done yet, and honestly I don't think it ever will be. It's been a slow process and I will continue to build her up over the coming years.
Outside I have a Pettit Racing front, MS Sides and rear, Wed Sport wheels, B&B exhaust, front and rear cameras. The front cam is hooked up to my CarPC to record drives. The rear is just your standard reverse cam which switches on when the car is placed in reverse.
The interior is 90% my work and done with my own 2 hands. Definitely the most tedious and what I personally am the most proud of. This was my first time ever doing fabrication. I've spent at least a year building and setting everything up the way I wanted it in my free time. I built the dash piece and incorporated a touch pad in what would have been the factory location for NAV equipped vehicles. I also built the CarPC and wired everything up. The sub and enclosure work was done by a great local company I was referred to by my regular shop. No fancy lights just load bass. That's what I asked for and that's what I got
Anyways I hope you like it. I built it for myself so I'm sure it's not for everyone. If you have any questions please let me know.

Hey that's pretty sweet! Are you using the stock storage bin between the rear seats to conceal your sub, or are you planning on doing something different? I like the new upper dash too, though the finish looks a bit rough, though maybe it's just the pics. Still, that upper dash would look SWEET in piano-black.
Externally, I'm not a fan of the nose, but nice job man. I'm sure that set you back a few $$$. Oh, by the way, what's the square thingy on the center console do?

Thank you. I'm leaving the plastic bin out. I use a sun screen when I'm parked and I rarely take her anywere she is unattended so I'm not to worried about it. I tried cleaning the dash piece before I met up with the AZMC that morning and the cloth I used stuck all over the paint It's definately not perminent but it's going to be a pain to clean it off. I'm not a big fan of piano black for something that gets that much sun light but thank you for the suggestion.
The project was definitely not cheap. It helped that I did what I could on my own but $$$ is definitely a factor. Everything I want requires it. I'm planning on keeping this car for a long time so I'll hopefully be able to afford most of what I want.

Here's a little clip of my 1st test run of the front mounted cam. This footage includes a portion of my grill but I didn't want to cut anyting until I was sure I liked the location.
Front Mount Cam Test 13.8mb
Edit - Word of warning to those with slow connections. Do not download this if you are expecting some great action packed video. It's nothing but a raw test of my front cam at Tortilla Flats. No sound or anything fancy. Just a nice drive through some windy roads with a friend from the club.

Very nice I cant wait to see what else you throw into your 8.
Also where did you get that car-computer, did you just get the software or did it come as a package?

To think I saw this wonderful work yesterday at a meet we had. You've come a long way Boxcar. Looking forward to seeing her again when I can spend a little more time looking closer at the computer and video set-up. See ya at the next one Boxcar.

Boxcar,
Sweet job. You've added a few goodies lately haven't you. I agree with most of what's been said. Nice wheels, but personally, I love the nose. The TI-G and wheel combo looks even better in public than pictures can do justice. Great job!! Hope to see you next weekend!
