man the tire blown was nothing compared to what followed.. remember thsi is 3 in the morning and i'm 120miles away from home. they tried charging me 150 for a tow truck plus $3.60/km.. seriously that is phucked up lol. anyways ended up at a walmart at 4:30am, slept in my car woke up for 7am, to find out they have no tires for my car. I went to Canadian tire.. they said they have no 18inch tires.. ( i say change your name to canadian no tire ) then cabbed around teh city for tires, which I found then was told my rim was cracked, so had to buy a 17inch rim with a use dtire to just get home.. which walmart almost refused not to install, because the size was 17 and did not match the rest of my tires. So I argued with the guy for a while.. also my cab driver got suspended for 4 hours and fined 15 bucks for stealing a fare lol hell started at 3am and i got home around 4pm.

Avoiding adventures like this is exactly why I carry a spare tire.

From what I can tell from the pics, the tire looks like it could of used replacing months ago. Not too judge, just thoughts for you on down the road to avoid future mishaps. Sorry to hear your misfortune. The main thing is you and the 8 are OK.

Any TPMS warning? If the tires were new, and pressure was ok, sounds like the tire was defective. Might be a good idea to report the incident to the Feds.

wow that's kinda shitty! I had the same problem with my old Protege. Tire blew going 120km's, in the middle of butt-fak nowhere Ontario. Luckily, I was only about 5km's from a small town that had Canadian Tire. They only had a certain set, but they were slightly wider. Had to buy them and drive all the way back to Winnipeg!
Damn was I lucky! Sounds like you had a long day lol

No tpms in Canada. At least, not where I'm from...

either you got a cut somewhere, or your tire pressure was really low or high, eventually overheated and BAM !

well, either way, glad you made it in 1 whole piece. it could be worst.

I didn't pull up your photos, I'm just looking at the small picture. But, they look pretty well wore out lol. How much percentage of tread would you say is left on it? Glad to hear you're not hurt.

What kind of tires are they? I have some Kuhmo SPTs that have done me well for the price I paid for them. They was $120 a piece installed, balanced, everything.
