I would love a polished aluminum intake manifold, would pretty up the engine bay a whole lot.

A little off topic but on topic.... Alot of the guys around here are Tuning thier cars on an E85 map. Mainly the turbo setups on a couple Rx7's and a couple 240s with an RB25 and RB30 hybrid stuff goin on. Anyway, this got me thinking. If you were to tune a vehicle for E85 and spray nitrous, would the fuel side of the wet kit have to be larger to compensate for the E85? seeing how the injectors need to be tuned to flow more fuel when using E85.

Once again this is just me being curious and i am not sure that the higher octane of the E85 would really have positive effect on a non boosted car. That **** is everywhere here in the midwest though, and $1.35 a gallon lol

Yes, the fuel jet would need to be larger.

would the higher octane e85 make a larger nitrous shot more doable. lets say a 75 or 100 shot. With the car tuned for NA e85 ofcourse.

Not necessarily as we haven't even gotten to the point of having spent considerable time controlling the ignition system during nitrous use for shots higher than 55 h.p. with pump gas. So far, with F/I systems adding as much as 100-125 rwhp I see no reason for nitrous to not do the same thing.

I'll be the first in line for one of those Ray

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried direct injection on the renny as yet?

As in use a pair of nozzles closer to the lower intake manifold?
BTW, I think I need your e-mail address, Merv.

Kinda funny how this is starting to come up. I suppose we will see if the dual nozzle setup helps with the nitrous backfire issue. However i do have an MT so it should not be as big of an issue as it is with Easy. Also, if he does go the same route here in the near future, it would be an interesting ... lets call it... "test" for the BHR R&D department.

Can i get a nice little metal Plate with #001 and your name signed into it with an engraver. Attached right to the top of the my intake - You know kinda how the Cobra motors are.

I thought on your own personal car you tapped into the intake manifold directly. I remember you were thinking about doing some sort of service. This was a long time ago!

I already DID the dual-nozzle set up and it worked fine.

There is a reason we may think it to help the A/T applications.

"Testing" theories and designs on our own cars is exactly what we do at BHR and these are our daily-drivers so we are all in the same boat in that regard.

Funny about the placard and where you got the idea; I approached a good friend with that same idea a year ago and have pondered giving BHR installation customers each their own, distinct, customer number and Titanium plate like the ones you mention on the Cobra and GT cars, Steve.

However, these plates would not be cheap and I don't have near as much money as I do ambition. Maybe I should be elected President of the United States and use OTHER PEOPLES' money to fund my own ambitions.

We are considering a near "direct injection" for this due to my recent experiences.
MM and I made about 9 maps the other day and wasted a 10 lb bottle of N2o. And luckily not my engine.
But we made progress in determining some of the distinct characteristics of the larger shot. And some of the inherent characteristics of big shots on the AT model.
I'll find out the end results that have been made on the dyno tomorrow The car pulls a lot stronger now. and it was pretty strong before.
Before it made 172WHP in Socal during there Dyno Day. I hope to be above that now.

And I'm taking a spare manifold with me to the Dyno.
In case of DYNO'MITE. Oh I hope not.

Hmmm. . . Kinda makes me want to hit the dyno after the install. see what actual gains come of the nitrous install.

Thank god I gave him mine. I hope it just stays the manifold

With the way Flashwing and Easy eat around here I am going broke like I have two more teenagers in the house!

Seriously, we are all on shoestring budgets but, the way I see it, if BHR can make it through the Obama Presidency we will be able to handle anything.

My guess on Easy's dyno pull tomorrow; 180-183 rwhp at peak and a gain of 5-6 lb./ft. of torque over previous nitrous pulls. Thatis, after taking into consideration the fact that we are comparing two different dyno types.

I must have at least 190 to beat Flashwing and his 6 port. I wouldn't be surprised if it's more.
Ray has not gone for a ride in the car lately.

You keep putting it out there. And being the good guest I must comply.

Even a modest 7-10 h.p. gain seems like more than it really is in the seat-of-the-pants. I guess we'll see if I maintain my "Nitrous God" status around here after Saturday.

You, Todd, and Jeff are always invited. Besides, your grilling of the salmon was pretty friggin' good.

There is a LOT about the BHR crew the rest of you out there do not yet know!

For instance, that you all wear BHR pajamas and have pillow fights?

If we did don't you think we would webstream them? There is certainly no shortage of voyeurs around here.
