I would certainly hope that a 6 would smack the bejeezus out of that car

 

I dont remenber the 6 weight but I belive is like 3,350 pounds? that car has 250 pounds more that realy hurts in a track.

 

wow. there are so many other cars that I would get for $30k... what attracted him to the Eclipse? Is it because he used to own a Talon?

 

that car has a huge heft.....trust me i been in it......it has tons of torque but it aint going no where in twisties....and lots of wheel spin too on take off....

WOW 30K plus is a horendous ripoff!!!

I can list about 7 or 8 cars id get before that for 30K

They sold the RX8 close to and below invoice with the 3% from Mazda to the dealer. They were begging to move them the end of 04. That being said, I think the right color and its a cool looking car. Bigger then the 8, yet smaller on the inside put me off. 30K, not for me but who are we to say? Those that bought it might think the 8 is ugly and a ripoff for the price considering it takes off like a yugo. Still love mine though.

 

I figured out what it looks like! the BLOATED Dodge Intrepid...in fact I believe an Intrepid and an RSX mated to come out with an ugly monstrosity.

Here is the 3000GT wheel gap...that was the main thing that I hated about my old car! This is not my old one but a sample picture...I'll look to see what I have on my old car...I think I have a shot of it right beside my 8 somewhere

Personally I think the new eclipse looks like crap. Two body styles ago it was a good looking car.

I raced one at a stop light the other night with my 8 and kicked the crap out of it and then realized after the fact that it was the new eclispe. When i rolled up next to the car at first I thought it was some crappy hybrid.

 

$34K?! You've gotta be ******* kidding me. It's not so much that you can buy an RX-8 for that price (actually about $5K lower these days), because I think the buyers are looking for something different, but that you can buy a damn 350Z or G35 (if you need the back seat) for that price and get car that's better in every conceivable way.

Or just buy an EVO if you have to buy a Mitsu, or maybe for a little more a used vette.

IMO the car looks nice, but loose the moon roof deflector. I took mine off after one month. It doesn't add to the car it takes awy from the clean lines looking at the car from the front. Try it out. It's easy to take off and I bet you'll like it without. Car appears lower.

 

These 4th gen eclipse are McNasty. Too big and ogre-like. The concept vehicle looked alright but now it looks like a Pontiac. I am SO glad that I talked myself out of Mitsu a year back! It's funny but I too have seen assloads of these vehicles already ... what gives?

I doubt they can top the 2nd gen Eclipse or 3000GT in terms of style.
