Has there ever been a video where the RX-8 did win? (not including the A-spec revenge one..)

About what I expected. They usually compare the 8 against more powerful cars.

The RX8 only has one real disadvantage. Power. It has the handling to keep up but no where near the power.

They don't have a whole lot of choice considering the RX-8 is less powerful than most cars Best Motoring would have on their track... However, the first time they had it on it lost to less powerful cars (according the the manufacturer) in the RSX and WRX.

Maybe less HP but I bet both had more torque...which is the real issue not the HP.

But Top Gear says the RX-8 is equal to the Z and M3 around their track, so it must be true...

Depends on the track as we all have said before. The 8 is quick. I have/do owned 2 WRXs. I owned an 8. I will own another 8 and not another WRX.

People don't like to realize there are MUCH more capaple cars on the track, for about the same money, as an RX8. The RX8 just 'looks' better, and has a better livability quotient, IMO.

Course, if I had the $ I'd trade it in w/o too much reservation.

Its a differnt type of track. Tsukuba needs alot more power to go around it fast then the Top Gear track does. The 8 is really short on power and its obvious on the straights. He looked slow in the corners too tho. All that body kit and extra bracing my help sometimes but its just dead weight here i think. Just a few more pounds that has to be pushed by what little power it has.

i think tsukuba is as balanced a track as you can get. It has the standard straight and a curve and a bunch of technical sections. its a very short track with short straight. the 8 has better power to weight ratio, and its not detuned like the US version so it has better acceleration than the type Rs.the faster cars starts further back in BMI. im not sure if the straights helped the type Rs

In RX8's defense, i dont think it had a very good driver :p i mrsn he is a pro JGTC driver and all, but i dont think hes that good compared to gansan
