Best looking wheels you have ever seen on the RX8!
niz...
its gonna be hard to find these up for sale alone...
do they got a part number just for the center mazda emblem on the centercaps? u know...just the part that says MAZDA, that clips into the centercap hex?
be alot easier to get that by itself, if not too much.
(btw, these wheel/tire combo has raised my MPG by 2+... though it raised the car somewhat)

i've seen glossy black BBS wheel combo w/o enough depth for the rotors behind it to help the spokes "pop", so it only seems like black wheels when at speed.
i've wanted to go with a bright satin finish for my centers... but unable to find it, i ended up with chrome, which is very reflective, focusing only on the centers. only problem with that is... it takes away the depth of the wheels being a 9" wide, and you can't really see the rotors behind it.
the results are bad...in my eyes. but the BBS mesh design already "clutters" things.
black... is a good contrasting color. but maybe i can try recommending a satin/flat black if ur rotors are big/shiny enough to help the spokes "pop" from behind. AND if you polish the lips real well... the focus' the centers.
maybe you can get good results if u try that if enough light can get inside the wheels...
though i found some satin silver on summitracing AFTER i've already painted them... i think my sig with the rpf1's is a good example of how nicely lighting from the rotors can help with the looks of the wheels. so to me, the bigger the rotors& smaller the wheel spokes, the better. performance isn't bad either.
oh,
and if u look at the black wheels in rodjonathan's quote, its also a good example if u wanted a black center.
see how a flat finish shows EVERY crevice of the spoke more, and reflects light less?
and i can be wrong on this... but either he's on bigger wheels, or its smaller rotors from a sport pkg. but either way...even slightly rusty rotors, you can see how it helps the wheels spokes in front stand out?
so go for black centers.... how it turns out may just be on how bright the finish is, and how its executed.

Sorry, but I'm bias. Pic would have been better if there were more light.

any info on the center emblems? just wanna know if its a worthwhile part to get to complete my BBS rims...
not my style, but lookin good though. the spokes are very bright, and stands out, making the rest of the pkg behind it seem diminuitive. maybe the high point ur tryin to make...
they look good. the cost a pretty penny new... and aren't rebuildable if damaged. but i'm sure they are durable and decently lightweight.
size?

I got 'em used for $400. One has some curb rash but it's not too bad. None are bent. They're smaller - 18 x 7.5 but I'm not into a hugely aggressive fit/look so the narrowness didn't matter to me. They hold the stock size 225 tires just fine. They also give me 2 lbs. less per wheel vs. oem so I guess that's nice.

Pico's 40th anniversary. The rims, on that car, are perfect. I would not change a thing.
My plan is to purchase some 40th anniversary rims, and give them the R3 rim treatment. "R3" rims, in 18" diameter, at probably 1/4 the cost? WIN!
