I will give you credit......back on the other "concept" thread the opinions were about 50% bad, and about 50% good or "I'll wait until I see the finished product"
And the overwhelming response in this thread is positive (if not 100%) so I will give you credit for pulling it off, considering this crowd can sometimes be brutally honest.

an audi is an audi, an rx-8 is an rx-8. i don't quite understand the appeal in making cars look like other cars? if u really want an audi that badly, u should buy one instead of desecrating your 8.

Momentum Keeps Me Going
LED tail lamps have already proliferated all the way to the most mundane of cars, the same will happen in the front with headlights and trim lights.
I retrofitted LED tail to my '04 and I doubt anyone except a dedicated RXer would know they're not stock. If you've ever seen the R8 in person, esp during the daytime, the LED front trim lights IMO are very tasteful and classy. Well done mods on any 8 don't detract but add...well done being the operative word and open to interpretation but everyone "nows" what is done well when they see it and likewise something that just shouldn't be.
I doubt that there are few 8 owners who haven't in some way "desecrated' their 8 as you phrase it.

Looks awesome! They look much better than when you first posted your idea. Now they aren't rice. LoL. Can you post a DIY for this? I would love to have these. I think they actually look pretty good.

call it what u want, but audi has more or less implemented the "diamond rope LED" on the headlights of its entire line of new crop of vehicles. u honestly think that when someone sees those headlights on an 8 that they'll be going, "wow how original" and not think it's a copy of the audi?

to be named later.... Thanks for the props boss, i knew not everyone would like it, but not everyone likes the rx8 either... I love mine, as does just about everyone ehre right. It was a taste thing i guess, and I didnt spen 2g's on new headlamps to F 'em up with lame diamond rope or whatever. I even, made a small string and put it in a glass of water for 3 days, thats when the battery died, and my setup was H2O proof too, so it was a go :D

ima get the DIY up as soon as i finish, im throwing the new fogs in that came today, and then the bumper so i should be good to go for the a tutorial in a few days for anyone who wants to try it.
PS if you do try it yourself without a DIY, please dont try to super glue or epoxy*(see B) anything anywhere.
A. superglue will leave a nasty mess under your headlight as will the epoxy, even if you "clean it off"
B. dont not epoxy/resin unless you are 100% sure thats where it goes and you wont need to move it.
I made both of these mistakes and spent 5 hours sanding and buffing, and sanding and buffing just to get a DECENT look back. Thats the reason my lights stopped short of the end, It made a mess that even after my best attempts to clean is still noticable, let alone with the light buried within... that made it look frosted :-(

^you like man? haha
anyways, yes much cleaner than when first started. The lighting on these pictures is much smaller and defined than in the first set of pics you posted. very interesting take on doing it as well. I'd be interested to see how it'd look with the bumper on, or an aftermarket aggressive bumper on as well.

are your eyelids not paint-matched yet? get that done asap my man. those are lookin so sweet. its not often that people pull off a new idea on the first try, especially on this car. a well deserved pat on the back
